Happy Friday 😊

I’m slightly late posting this morning 🌄 — and by slightly, I mean it’s been full chaos from the moment I opened my eyes. One of those “how is it already this busy?” kind of mornings.

The bus was taking far too long, so I decided to walk to work, confidently telling myself it would “warm me up.”
Reader… it did not 🙄🥶
I arrived absolutely frozen, questioning all my life choices, and I’m pretty sure I’m still defrosting as we speak 🤣

On the plus side, I made it to the office just before the rain started, which I’m counting as today’s small win ☔

Ooh I need some inspiration from you lovely people please 🙏🏻

On Monday Dakota has to go dressed up as a rock star as part of a launch to the rock star times tables they do at school 🏫

Has anyone got any ideas on what sort of outfit to wear and hairstyles? Nothing crazy as I'm terrible when it comes to doing her hair 🙈🤣
I looked online but there's just so much and most aimed at adults.

Good morning, beautiful people 😊

It’s cold… but for once not frosty or icy, so no actual Winter Olympics on the school run this morning 🤣
Instead we’ve upgraded to wet, grey and miserable. Lovely. Hopefully the cold snap is on its way out… although who am I kidding? This is British weather we’re talking about 🌧️😂

Feeling a bit better than yesterday, but definitely not 100%. Who knew a chalky drink could absolutely knock you sideways 🤢 Really hoping I don’t have to endure another barium swallow test anytime soon 😩
Back to work today though – in the office for a short day, so I’ll survive 💪

What are you all up to today?

Here’s a photo of a cross stitch I’m still working on… and by still, I mean for over 2 years 🙈🤣 I keep putting it down, getting distracted, and then wondering why it’s not finished.
One of my goals for 2026 is to actually do more cross stitching because it helps me switch off and relax (and maybe finish this one 😅).

It's still too cold here 🥶 I have to do the school run today too 😔

I'm still feeling rough after Monday so I've called in sick from the day job. So once Dakota is at school, I'm coming home and getting into bed to rest.

It’s National Shortbread Day 🍪
The one biscuit that definitely doesn’t need dunking… but we all do it anyway 😏

Fun facts while you’re reaching for another one:
• Shortbread dates back to Scotland in the 12th century 🇸🇨
• Traditional shortbread is made with just three ingredients – butter, sugar and flour (simple but dangerous 😆)
• The classic shapes (fingers, rounds and wedges) all come from old Scottish traditions
• It was once considered a luxury treat, saved for special occasions – now we eat it on a Tuesday without shame

Perfect with a cuppa, perfect straight from the tin, and absolutely perfect when you “accidentally” eat more than planned.

It was -6°C when my alarm went off at 6:30 🥶

Mother Nature… who hurt you?!

Anyway, enough moaning about the cold (lies, I’ll moan again later).
Dakota is back to school today and with our lovely childminder. She did NOT want to get up this morning — apparently mornings should be cancelled 🤣

Day job for me today, and I’m still feeling rough after yesterday’s appointment. That drink made my mouth drier than the Sahara Desert 🏜️ and Gandhi’s flip-flop 😩
I’ve had my breakfast shake with apple fibre added, praying to the tummy gods that it helps 🙏

So if you’re looking for me, I’ll be in the office… frozen solid, clutching a hot drink, and pretending to be productive ❄️☕😂

What’s everyone up to today?

Good morning and happy Monday… well, I think it’s Monday 🤔😂

It’s absolutely bloody freezing 🥶 my toes are frozen, everything is frozen… I’m pretty sure I’ve turned into an icicle.

Day job for me today, but I’m finishing early as I’ve got a hospital appointment for a barium screening. Not exactly looking forward to drinking something chalky 🤢 and I have to fast for 6 hours beforehand… oh the joy 😭

Dakota is off today as it’s inset day, so she’s living her best life with a pyjama day, films and playing with her nan while daddy works from home 💕

These photos were taken on Saturday from the London Eye — such a pretty sunset over London 🌅✨ definitely nicer to look at than the freezing weather we’ve got today!

I'm super late posting today 🙈

It's been one of those days where I've not known whether I'm coming or going 😵‍💫
I also woke up with a cold 😷🤧 typical.

I'm at work today but will be finishing soon and my out of office will be on for a week. I'm looking forward to a break.

I forgot to share what the elves got up to on Wednesday night so here they are along with what they got up to last night.

Wednesday the tree tried eating them 🎄🤣 I wish it did lol.

Last night they played on Dakota's switch....she was not impressed as she wanted to play it today after school 😅
