As a mother, it's every parents nightmare. A silent thought, unspoken for fear of setting it ablaze. But following the unexpected passing of a mothers young son, confronted with overwhelming dread, loss, and unimaginable thoughts. It took considerable time before she could share her experience, without being re-traumatised by the pain of her son's death. However, when she did she expressed this wish.
"When faced with your personal loss, may you be left with the word ‘hope’ and the belief that in time, you can learn to grow from your grief."
Grief is timeless. ✨

I always find it humbling and an honour to be asked to participate in a funeral service. This time was no different except, on this occasion, a small gathering of family and friends sat together with a 'cuppa' in the funeral directors office to say farewell to their loved one. The cremation was held the following day.

There isn't a rule book when it comes to a funeral service. No set location or format necessary. So make it reflective of your loved one. A funeral service your way is ALWAYS an option.

💫 Feel free to contact me for information.

I was delighted along with fellow celebrant Marc Lemezma to join and participate in the Memorial Christmas Seevice held at St James, Tunbridge Wells.
We were united in our thoughts as we remembered loved ones who have passed but remain firmly in our hearts.

Up with the larks & making the most of my time. A trip into Central London before my meeting, gave me the opportunity to gaze at this wonderful city. If like me you're always rushing from one location to another. Take a moment to be still and just look around you.

I am thankful for each breath 💫

The struggle is real.
How will you respond? 💫

A shout out to everyone who is trying right now…
Trying to do the right thing.
Trying to stay open.
Trying to keep going.
Trying to hold on.
Trying to let go.
Trying to find their flow.
Trying to stay afloat.
Trying to meet each new day.
Trying to find their balance.
Trying to love themselves.
Trying new things and new ways.
I see you. I’m there too.
We’re in this together ..

So it's not part of my remit as a celebrant, but every now and again I am asked by a client if it's 'okay' to stay in touch with me via the odd email or text. A month ago I received such an email from a past client asking if we could meet. We did so today. We met for coffee, nearly two years after the service I had conducted . It was a delight not just to see them but more so to hear their experience of how the loss had impacted them initially, the affect it has had on their life as well as the steps they have implemented in order to 'manage' their loss and look ahead at the prospect of life without their loved one, yet still live a fulfilling life. I'm so pleased they chose to connect and share this experience with me through conversation and photographs.
We parted company with a smile and I am feeling truly blessed ✨✨

Go at your own pace when dealing with grief. Do what feels right for you. There's no blueprint, rights or wrongs. Just your emotions. So just do you! Be true to yourself. There's no better way to heal. ✨️

Feeling honoured but deeply saddened to be taking the service of a gentleman l briefly met last year, following the passing of his sister.

Remembered for his patient & uncomplaining attitude. Unassuming kindness and consideration of others and his good humour. A fan of public transport known for his excellent photography of London buses.

His family are thankful for the very special legacy he leaves behind - his unique take on the world. Advice, opinions and views which were insightful, wise, encouraging & humorous.

Journey on until you meet once again.
