Folate (B9) is essential for making red blood cells. Vitamin B6 and B12 are both important for making hemoglobin which allows red blood cells to carry oxygen to all the cells in your body.
Including adequate amounts of Vitamin B in your diet is an important part of staying healthy. Foods such as meat, fish, eggs, dairy, legumes, nuts, green vegetables and fortified grains all contain varying amounts of Vitamin B. If you don’t think you’re getting enough Vitamin B through food you can always opt to take a supplement.
