Safe to say the first event of the year was a good’un! Joined forces with a pal to run this one together ✊

42km ~ 887m elevation ~ Arundel Winter Trail

Started out as a foggy haze in the depth of the downs but once up on the ridge it was a clear (ish) day! Not bad for Jan 👏

The course was challenging with a few tasty climbs and plenty of bog to skate through! Well done to my buddy Nat for completing his first marathon distance! 🙌 and a huge congratulations to Zack for smashing it out the park 🥇

Shoutout to our head coach and crew master for the reloads of snacks, hydration and mid run pep talk 💪

And of course a big thank you to race organisers for putting on a great local winter race!

2026 is underway… which race next??

Winter on the Downs 50km ~ 06.12.25

Even with all the training and preparation, you can never be sure how these races will go….With each one I learn more about myself and how to let go of areas I can’t control…

It was a tough day out there and respect to all those who ran the 55 miler and even more so the 100 miler (maybe one day! 🤪)

Running solo was a bit daunting but I found my flow, no music, just me and the course.

I met and chatted to lots of interesting people along the way… all running for there own reasons, challenges and motives.

This sport is unique and we’re all a little batty that’s for sure but roll on some more in 2026!

Thank you and your team of volunteers for a great race!
