Delay of the placenta delivery is been managed by the midwife or the gynecologist

Typically the body expels placenta within 30 minutes of delivery, if after that the placenta remains in your womb for more tha n 30 minutes after childbirth is considered to be retained placenta
Signs and symptoms
-fever
-heavy bleeding
-Pain
-Foul smelling discharge from the va**na that contains large pieces of tissue

Types of retained placenta
Placenta accreta:when the placenta is attached to the muscular layer of the uterine wall rather the uterine lining

Placenta Adherens: When the womb, fails to contract enough to expel the placenta, instead the placenta remains loosely attached to the uterine wall.

Trapped Placenta:when the placenta deattach from the uterus but don’t leave the body.

Risks factors

-stillbirth
