🎬 The Boys in the Boat (2023) wasn’t just about acting — it was about moving like real athletes.

To support the cast, we brought gym-based strength and conditioning that supported the miles of rowing that were being done each day, but didn’t overcook those areas stressed in the boat:

🚣‍♂️ Rowing drills to build movement memory
💪 Specific core work to improve stability & protection of the back
🔥 Tabata to build endurance for intense shoot days, whether that was in a kitted out gym or with no equipment, riverside

Because when the performance matters, every rep counts.

🎬 High speed. Long days. Repetitive strain.

When you’re filming lap after lap in a real F1 car, it’s not just the engine that takes a beating — it’s your neck, back, and hips.

To keep the cast performing at their best, we implemented structured warm-ups, cooldowns, and regular hands-on therapy.

It wasn’t glamorous. But it meant they could keep getting back in the car, take after take.

🎭 Performers — what’s your go-to meal after a long day?

One of our team’s favourites? Air-fried salmon, cheesy sweet potato, and a Mediterranean-style salad (asparagus optional!).

Not every cast member needs fixing.

Sometimes, they just need the space to understand what their body’s telling them — and how to respond.

On the F1 movie, our approach wasn’t about quick solutions.
It was about thoughtful collaboration, helping performers build physical awareness they could take into future productions.

🎬 Because when performers feel empowered, the performance lasts — long after the cameras stop.

🎬 Not your average film set.

From F1 circuits to controlled chaos on camera, this production was unlike anything we’ve worked on before.

What started as a "racing movie" turned into one of the most demanding, collaborative, and rewarding projects we've had the privilege to support.

From neck conditioning and hydration protocols to warm-up consistency and performance resilience, our job was to keep cast and stunt drivers at their physical best—without getting in the way of their performance.

🏁 Curious what goes into supporting a film at this level?

F1 drivers are some of the fittest athletes in the world.

Even though they’re seated, their cardiovascular output is elite — thankfully, we didn’t have to reproduce those outputs, but we did need to prepare the cast for more area-specific capacity-related traits of the drivers.

For F1 the movie, we didn’t need two-hour race sessions, but the physical demands were still real, often extending over a day with more laps than F1 races. We focused on capacity, recovery, and achieving a specific physical driver look.

🎬 See how strategic conditioning helped the cast stay sharp, consistent, and ready for the camera.

How do you prepare a cast to handle real G-force, like the F1 movie?

Neck work is often skipped… but when you’re dealing with G-forces and performance, that simply isn’t an option. It took weeks of gradual exposure, strategic prep, and training in a way that some performers initially found uncomfortable.

Why? Because the work had to stick when it mattered most—on set, in the car, at speed.
