Dry skin makes the skin look and feel rough, itchy, flaky or scaly. The location where these dry patches form vary from person to person. It's a common condition that affects people of all ages.

Dry skin, also known as xerosis or xeroderma, has many causes, including cold or dry weather, sun damage, harsh soaps, and overbathing.

You can do a lot on your own to improve dry skin, including moisturizing and practicing sun protection year-round. Try various products and skin care routines to find an approach that works for you.

We have sebaceous glands all over our body – particularly on our face and scalp – and these glands produce an oily secretion called sebum that helps moisturise and protect your skin.

Some people produce too much sebum – and it’s this that causes the shiny, greasy appearance of oily skin. And the problem is that oily skin can block pores and even cause acne breakouts for some people.

There are many factors for oily skin, to find out more DM me today!

Atopic eczema is more common in children, often developing before their first birthday. But it may also develop for the first time in adults.

It's usually a long-term (chronic) condition, although it can improve significantly, or even clear completely, in some children as they get older.

Once you fall asleep, your body starts producing growth hormones.

These growth hormones ensure that your skin is producing enough collagen, which helps your skin to remain tight and bouncy and also allows your skin to repair acne and scarring across your body.

Simply put, exfoliating helps to keep your skin silky soft and smooth by buffing away and removing dead skin cells.

Your skin naturally sheds dead skin cells every 30 days or so. When this happens, new skin cells form the top layers of your skin. If those dead cells don’t shed, it can result in dull, dry and flaky patches.

Exfoliating is the process of helping to speed up that process by removing dead skin cells from the surface of your skin. You can exfoliate your skin by using a purpose-made chemical or granular exfoliating product or an exfoliation tool such as a pumice stone, exfoliating shower puff or an electric cleansing/exfoliating brush.

Here are a few tips to showing what food causes acne and how you can address it.
You're more likely to have acne if your diet is full of foods and drinks like soda, white bread, white rice, and cake.
The sugar and carbohydrates in these foods tend to get into your blood really quickly. That means they are high on the glycemic index, a measure of how foods affect blood sugar.

Melanin is a pigment that gives your skin its colour. When the skin is exposed to UV rays, extra melanin is produced by the body in an attempt to protect the skin.
This will make your skin look darker, or, as we know it, gives you a suntan. UV rays from the sun speed up an uneven production of melanin which can then cause irregular colouring (pigmentation) of the skin.
This can manifest itself on the face in several ways, which we explore below. The sun’s ultraviolet rays can also cause permanent stretching of small blood vessels that can leave spidery veins on the face.

Wearing sunscreen can certainly assist in protecting your skin. Good sunscreen habits will not only protect your skin against the visible signs of ageing, fine lines and wrinkles around your eyes but also reduce pigmentation, sun spots, and broken capillaries.
