🤔 What is Osteopathy?🤔
Osteopathy is a manual therapy founded by Andrew Taylor Still, an American Doctor, in 1874.
One of the main principles of osteopathy is to consider the individual as whole: a unit made of muscles, bones, organs and systems.
Furthermore, osteopathic philosophy believes in the body’s ability to self-healing.
The role of the osteopath is to eliminate obstacles and interferences from the body in order to allow the body itself to regain health by using its own self-regulation and self-healing processes.
How can a osteopath do this?
This happens through soft tissue massage, joint mobilization, stretches, exercises and
high-velocity thrusts.
