Pictures speak a thousand words ❤️

We had a fantastic new show here at Southborough this afternoon! 🎶

Singer Jason Redrup, performing as Mad Bess, treated our residents to a wonderful live performance filled with beautiful guitar playing and great singing. The room was full of energy as residents were dancing, singing along, and swaying to the music.

It was such an interactive and personal performance, and Jason really engaged with everyone in the room. It was especially lovely to see residents joining in with songs they knew and loved.

Thank you to our amazing Nursing team member Sam who made each resident and family member present feel special today 🙏❤️

We’re very pleased to say our residents have given Jason a big thumbs up 👍 and we’re delighted that he’ll be coming back to sing for us again this May!

Thank you Jason for an amazing afternoon 💞

What an incredible journey it has been with Adopt a Grandparent 🩵

Ruth was matched with Emily, a wonderful volunteer who has generously given her time every week just to chat with Ruth. Looking back, we realise just how much these conversations have meant to Ruth. Having someone who listens, who laughs with her, and who gives her the space to share her stories truly means the world.

For Ruth, it’s not just about telling the story; it’s about being heard, remembered, and having a meaningful connection. Those moments of conversation have brought joy, comfort, and companionship.

A huge thank you to Adopt a Grandparent for creating such a beautiful initiative that brings people together in such a meaningful way. We hope all your efforts to gain support and donations this year are a huge success - because the difference you make is truly priceless.

Our Southborough residents enjoyed a wonderful Friday exercise session supported by Jules from Improved Health available on This time we chose a dementia-friendly video with simple seated exercises, making it accessible and enjoyable for everyone. 💪✨

It was lovely to see the young girl in the video accompanying Jules for the exercises – it really helped our residents sit up, take notice and follow along.

A special moment was seeing Barbara and Dharan high-fiving each other at the end of the session, just like they did in the video! 🙌 Moments like these bring so much joy.

Jules we hope you’re watching this and know how grateful we are for your helpful videos. Thank you for helping keep our residents active, smiling and connected. 😀

A heartfelt thank you to Garner's Funeral team for visiting us at Southborough and for the beautiful flowers gifted for our lounge. 💐

We are proud to be associated with such caring, family-owned funeral directors who are truly part of our local community. Your kindness and support mean a great deal to us and to the people who live here.

It’s always wonderful to work alongside organisations that share the same values of compassion and community. Thank you again for your thoughtful gesture. 🤍

We celebrated the birthday of our dear resident Dharan at Southborough this week! 🎉

Dharan spent the day doing all his favourite things, starting with a cowboy film in the morning 🤠🎬. Later, we gathered in the main lounge for a lovely celebration filled with music, as residents and staff sang Happy Birthday before he enjoyed a slice of cake 🎂🎶

To finish his special day, Dharan took a stroll around our beautiful gardens, sat in the sunshine for a while, and shared some wonderful stories from his early life.

“It was a lovely birthday,” he said, and we are really happy for Dharan 💛✨

Lovely to see some of our residents who don’t usually spend time in the main lounge enjoying cosy film afternoons in the quiet lounge 🎬✨

It means something special when everyone feels comfortable, relaxed and included. 🙏❣️

Today's movie is Guys and Dolls! 🎬
