FEEL GOOD FRIDAY 🐣🐣

Wishing all our families & children a very Happy Easter 🐣

The holiday period can be exciting, but also a little overwhelming for our little people. Here are a few simple tips to help keep things calm and enjoyable:

🐣 Keep a routine (where possible) even small familiar habits can help children feel safe and settled.
🐣 Create a quiet space – A cosy corner for downtime can make a big difference when things get busy.
🐣 Balance treats with breaks – Easter goodies are fun, but regular meals and rest help avoid overwhelming them.
🐣Plan calm activities – Crafts, colouring, or story time can bring moments of calm in between celebrations.
🐣 Talk about the day ahead , letting children know what to expect can reduce anxiety and build confidence.

Most importantly take things at your own pace and enjoy the special moments together 🐣🐣

FEEL GOOD FRIDAY @ Sense Assist

This week, we’ve been exploring the wonderful world of sand play and the benefits it brings to so many of our children.

From building and creating stories, to simply enjoying the sensory experience. Sand play supports:

✨ Sensory development
✨ Fine motor skills
✨ Creativity and imagination
✨ Communication and social interaction
✨ Emotional regulation and calmness

We’re so proud of all the children for their engagement this week, there have been some fantastic creations and even bigger smiles.

We had such an amazing coffee morning today!

Broxbourne Big Local Wormley Community Centre

The children enjoyed a range of lovely activities including Easter crafts, Lego, planting watercress heads, and exploring emotions with playdough.

We also had a very special visit from Milo the school teddy 🧸 who was extremely well behaved and even joined in with all the activities!

Thank you to everyone who came along – it was a wonderful morning!

FEEL GOOD FRIDAY!!!

This week one of our young people used a breathing technique when they felt overwhelmed and told us afterwards, ‘I feel much calmer now.’

We have been supporting some of our young people whose families are facing incredibly difficult times, including long-term illness and the loss of a loved one.

During our sessions we’ve been creating a safe and supportive space where they can talk, be heard, and know they are not alone. We also been explored calming strategies together, such as grounding techniques , naming 5 things you can see, 4 things you can feel, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell, and 1 thing you can taste, for when they are feeling overwhelmed by their emotions.

We are continually inspired by the strength and resilience these young people show, and we’re proud to be able to support them through challenging moments.

I’m very happy to announce that I’m nearly full for intervention sessions for the summer term 🌟

Thank you to all the families and schools who have booked ,it’s wonderful to see so many children accessing the support they need.

There is now just 1 place left available for the summer term. If you feel your child would benefit from targeted intervention and extra support, please get in touch as soon as possible to secure the final space.

Happy March everyone! 🌸 Spring is finally here, longer days, fresh air, and new beginnings.

This week our group focused on recognising emotions and learning the words to describe how we feel.

Using visual emotion cards, feeling wheels, and fun activities, the children explored what it means to feel happy, calm, excited, frustrated, and everything in between.

Giving children the language to express their emotions helps them to build:
😊 Confidence
😊Communication skills
😊 Self-awareness
😊Positive relationships

We’re so proud of how open the children were and how they shared and supported each other.

Small conversations really do make a big difference!
