One of the biggest misconceptions - almost 1 in 6 women think it’s harder to get pregnant coming off hormonal birth control*, however this is incorrect. The only exception is a short term delay in fertility returning to normal levels after stopping the hormonal injection (up to a year) - but there is no evidence to suggest there are any long term issues links to HBC.

The misconception is likely to come from hormonal birth control masking pre-existing conditions that can affect the changes of conceiving.

For many women, it’s really important they stay on the birth control pill to avoid an unwanted pregnancy or to manage a chronic condition - however, there is important research to suggest the pill can make you deficient in certain vitamins and minerals.

For long term pill users, this is really important information so that you can maintain your health and better tolerate any symptoms / side effects you might be experiencing.

Important:

Speak to your doctor or a healthcare professional before making significant changes to supplement intake.

It’s also an unregulated market, so quality supplements are essential and require thorough research. The best way to confirm deficiencies is via a blood test.
