In Kambo so far sixteen bio-active peptides are isolated: Adenoregulin, bombesin, bombesinnona peptide, a bradykinin derivate, caerulein, deltorphin, neurokinin B, phyllomedusin, phyllocaerulein, phyllokinin, phyllolitorin, preprotachykinin B, ranatachykinin A, sauvagine, T-kinin and urechistachykinin II. The first time Kambo was related to the pharmacology of a number of these peptides was in the early 90s. We will be covering each peptide individually in future posts.

A gentle self administered layered treatment is a great way to lengthen the time of a treatment. By adding a point every few minutes you lessen the initial intensity allowing you to feel into the subtleties of the frog and build to the purge. I actually started purging after two points but kept building to 5. It's also a great way to 'reset' the purge point if the number of points you use has built up from several sessions.

Dermaseptin is one of the peptides found in the kambo secretion and has powerful antimicrobial, antiviral properties:

'Through their amphiphilic nature, they destabilize membranes and are thus mainly inhibiting viral entry. However, several dermaseptins have been shown to act within the cell and may interfere with downstream steps of the virus cycle'
