Sleep is on my brain at the moment! Who thinks they get enough?

Along with blood sugar regulation sleep is one of the foundational pillars of health. Basically, if your sleep is 💩 then your hormone health, energy, libido, cycle & metabolism probably will be too.

Poor sleep > more insulin resistance > hormone dysregulation > increased fat storage > PMS & period problems 🙈😭

I look at sleep literally like a magic healing detoxing regenerative 💊. If you're struggling to lose weight, get your cycle in check, or just can't bring yourself to make better choices food wise, I can almost guarantee you need more (better quality) sleeeeep 💤.

What a sweet n sunny afternoon ☀️ 🍊🫐

Blackberries are amongst the highest fibre fruit (close 2nd to the raspberry) with more than 1/3 of your RDA in 1 cup (110g). Also packed with Vit C, Vit K and manganese which assists collagen formation - a non-negotiable for glowing skin, healthy bone development & a rock solid immune system 🪨. Fun factz.

FOOOOD 🧡💚💜💙💛❤️

Weekend in bonnie Scotland was full of it 👌some whole foods, some more decadent, bright, colourful, and others heavy on the beige spectrum, but all feeding my health and/or soul 💫

I definitely do not eat like this all the time (& rarely all in one weekend). But it’s my every day non-negotiables that I do CONSISTENTLY that I know have my back -

• Flood my body with over 30 varieties of fruits, veggies & berries from whole foods + EPA & DHA omegas from algae, fruits & seeds
• Prioritise sleep 💤
• Fresh air & sunlight are a must
• Move or walk in any way shape or form
• Get enough protein (0.8-1g per lb of body weight)

By levelling up my nutrition & routine with all this my immunity is being boosted, my skin health improved, cell turnover supported & oxidative stress reduced. So I can enjoy the odd burger and fries knowing that my systems are all functioning amazingly and I’m in a good place 🔥

Feel like it’s gonna be a soulful September🌙✨

Friday has felt frustrating & unproductive but stepping outside I see this gorgeous sky and instantly feel like universe is giving me a big hug. A long walk, some dinner, a bump into a best mate and a little thought reverse engineering and the world seems right again.

Excited to see what magic I can make happen this month 🪄

It’s so much more than vitamin C 🍊

Pt 2.

Vit C IS key, but you need more than a few satsumas when you’re feeling pants. It’s a bit like if your car breaks down. It’s probably a bit late for petrol.

Our immune system relies on a bunch of different nutrients from whole foods to function optimally so the best defence is to make these a part of your regular diet (as well as plenty of sleep, fresh air & movement OFC).

And don’t forget your good friend the gut. It acts as a barrier against pathogens so feed, feed and feed again🍴and eat the 🌈 people!

Breaking up your feed of 🥞

People are often scared of oily fish but arguably it’s the only fish you should be aiming to eat 2-3x per week.

They are FULLL of heart healthy and brain boosting Omega-3 fatty acids which are KEY for reducing inflammation, good cognitive function and heart health. The majority of us get way too much Omega-6 (from vegetable oils, processed foods) and too little Omega-3, putting the ratio out of whack & increasing risk of heart disease, dementia, diabetes, depression, ADD and the list goes on!

Something as simple as increasing omega 3 sources could help to rebalance and reduce your risk factors 👏🏻

! Fat does not make you fat
! Fat does not cause high cholesterol

If you don’t like the taste I get it. But if you’re into fish then aim for the low mercury types like SMASH (sardines, mackerel, anchovies, wild salmon & herring). The fish we tend to eat most of like tuna, cod, hake, haddock & seabass are all considered higher mercury so I would go sparingly on those. Unless it’s fish 🐟 and chip 🍟 Friday.

Aphrodisiac and libido boosting foods 💘

Pt 1.

Starting a little series around food is medicine and where better to start on this global day of lurvv than with foods that can ramp up libido and produce an aphrodisiac effect.

Some foodie ideas if you wanna woo this valentines:

-Beetroot carpaccio with gruyere toasties (totally vibing on this I must say)
-Steak frites + creamy mushrooms (for a boost of Vit D)
-Garlic & parsley oysters

The power of food is actually insane. What we eat ‘talks’ to our DNA and has the power to switch on or off genes that lead to either good health or disease. Can’t wait to delve further in to this!
