✨Did you know? This week is Random Acts of Kindness Week (14th - 20th Feb)!

Kindness isn't just for others—it starts with you. Giving yourself a break or a small compliment is a powerful act of self-care.

Science-backed benefits of kindness:
😊 Acts of kindness release oxytocin, dopamine, and serotonin, which regulate mood.
💖 Kindness is cardioprotective, reducing blood pressure and cortisol (stress hormone).
🙏 The benefits are maximized when kindness is viewed as a repeated practice.

Three Mindful Ways to Practice Kindness Today:
💫 Self-Kindness: Take a moment to give yourself one genuine compliment, or do a small act of self-care. This could be enjoying your favorite product in the bath, an earlier bedtime, or simply sitting in quiet stillness for a few minutes.
💫 Community Connection: Look for an opportunity to brighten someone’s day— an unexpected treat for a colleague, offering a neighbour a helping hand, or sharing something you value.
💫 Simple, fully present gestures: Bring your full attention to a small gesture: a smile, a listening ear, or a genuine thank you.

What is the first small, kind action you will take today?

This , I wanted to share this powerful poem by Donna Ashworth written during lockdown.

What I'm seeing in my mindfulness sessions is that the struggle captured here still rings true for so many teenagers today.

It's a beautiful, gentle reminder to hold hope and space for our young people.💫

May their journey be brighter and lighter.☀️

Please feel free to share this poem with any teenager who might benefit from reading it.

🌟🌟🌟

Tell the teenagers

That this will not go on
forever, that very very soon,
their life will begin again and
it will begin in glorious
technicolour.

Tell the teenagers

That they are not being left
behind, that all the other
young people are waiting
too, this stress is collective.

Tell the teenagers

That night is darkest before
dawn, so if they are feeling
extra hopeless right now,
that's because it's coming to
an end, soon.

Tell the teenagers

That it's possible to feel
utter despair and misery,
then, for no apparent
reason, to wake up one day
and to suddenly feel joy again,
we don't know why.

Don't believe anything
to be permanent, it's not.

Tell the teenagers

That we may not understand
how this is affecting them
but we can imagine, and we
can worry.

We don't know what to do
for the best but we are here.

Tell the teenagers

That one day they will look
back on this and realise it
made them a far better
human somehow.

They will seize the moment,
face the fears and take
every opportunity
with open arms.

And when tough times come,
they will remember they survived.

Tell the teenagers

To find a little purpose every
day and hang onto
it, like a life raft.

Anything, no matter how
small, can keep you afloat.

Tell the teenagers

That what they are enduring
right now is not fair, it's not
easy and it is hard.

But great things are coming,
if they can just hang on
and wait.

Wait.

Just a little longer.

A year of bringing mindfulness into schools, families, professional settings and everyday life ✨

It’s a wrap!

As the year comes to a close, I’m feeling grateful for a rich and meaningful 2025.🙏

🏫 From January to June, I had the pleasure of teaching mindfulness at Marie d’Orliac, accompanying pupils week after week and witnessing small but powerful shifts in attention, emotional regulation and self-awareness.

🤝The year was also filled with workshops, both online and in person, as well as Way of Council circles, and collaborations with families and professionals. Moments of pause, reflection and connection, shared in many different settings.

🤲 Alongside group work, I also held 1-to-1 private mindfulness sessions with children and adults. Quiet, personal spaces where meaningful changes often happen.

🧘 Last Sunday marked the last event of the year, with a session for the International Day of Meditation. A beautiful way to close this chapter.

I’ll be taking a longer break than usual this year to visit my eldest daughter in New York. I’ll be back and ready to resume work in mid-January.

🌟 Looking ahead to 2026, I’m excited about joint workshops with new collaborators, running regular mindfulness sessions in an afterschool club from spring, and co-hosting an autumn seminar exploring the shared ground between self-hypnosis and mindfulness.

Thank you to everyone who took part, supported, hosted or simply showed up this year. 🙏

More to come… watch this space! 🤩

✨ Last Friday, I celebrated my birthday with a lovely dinner at Mildred's with my best friends. 🎉
We missed you, Adeline Bonnet ! 💕

We've been friends for almost 30 years, and we know each other so well that we usually pick the perfect gifts! Well... almost! This year, I may have gone a little overboard with the flamingo theme for Annabel —flamingo watering bulbs and a duvet set! 😂🤦‍♀️

I love my gifts! A beautiful singing bowl from the Himalayas and a relaxing Ayurveda massage! I can’t wait to use the singing bowl in my mindfulness sessions. 🧘‍♀️ (The massage is already booked)

A huge thank you to my wonderful friends for making my birthday special and to Mildred's for the amazing dinner and surprise truffles and a candle! ❤️

Two weeks ago, my husband and I went on our first four-day walking holiday around the Gower Peninsula, an unspoilt corner of Wales. He’s been doing these walks for ten years and guided me through the preparation, the terrain, and the long days outdoors.

I had often heard that walking all day can bring a meditative state. Now I know it’s true. Spending 6–8 hours in nature gave me space to watch my mind, welcome insights, and reconnect with inner resources.

It also gave me a direct experience of many themes I cover in my mindfulness courses, including:
🌧️ Aversion — wishing the rain would stop.
☀️ Desire — wanting the sun to stay forever.
💪 Trust — discovering I could walk further than I believed.
💗 Compassion — respecting my body and feet rather than judging them.

It was transformative. I’ve been told the benefits last for weeks, and I definitely agree. I’m already looking forward to next year’s walk, which will be a full week long.

💭 I’d love to know — what experiences have been transformative for you?

I had the pleasure of Aurélie joining my eight-week mindfulness course for adults, and of leading mindfulness sessions for her Year 6 classes for three consecutive years.

🌟 It's always a joy to share these practices, whether with adults or children!

Here’s what she had to say: 💬👇

Next year it will be 30 years since we became friends. We have so many great memories from our time together, like salsa lessons, birthday celebrations (like yesterday), weddings and spa days. We have also supported each other through separation, divorce, health issues, difficulties with our children and step-children. When I work with children and adults, I look at how being grateful and appreciative can make us happier. You already know this, but I want to say a big thank you for our friendship and that I love you.

🏫 The last mindfulness sessions of the 2024–25 school year are taking place this week at Marie d'Orliac.

🗓 From January to June, I guided seven classes — from Year 2 to Year 6 — through my 8-week mindfulness programme. Some pupils were new to mindfulness, while others were practicing with me for the third year.

This year brought a new challenge: creating PSHE-aligned content for two mixed-age groups — Year 2/3 and Year 5/6. The older pupils had already done the programme, which made it easier to build on what they knew. For the younger Year 2s, it was a first — and it went beautifully.

🧘‍♀️In the photo, I’m guiding a Year 2/3 class through a meditation on personal strengths. After reflecting together, they visualised their qualities as treasures in an inner chest — something they can draw on whenever they need calm or confidence.

📔 This theme continues in the upper years. Swipe to see an extract from a Year 6 session on self-image — part of a fully designed mindfulness notebook I created this year with Lisa Cadu (design) and Aurélie Klinzig (illustrations).

To all the pupils who practiced with curiosity, an open mind, and an open heart: thank you. You’ve made these sessions unforgettable. 🙏

Today, I am attending the Integrative Oncology sessions. This morning was packed with fascinating data and figures from health coaches in Primary Care Networks, and two leading UK and French heads of integrative oncology, Professor Robert Thomas and Dr. Jean-Lionel Bagot who shared insights into their challenges and achievements.

After such dense sessions, I needed a proper break. Luckily, St. James’s Park is just a five-minute walk from the Queen Elizabeth II Centre. I found a peaceful temporary sanctuary under a tree there, which was much appreciated.

I’m now ready to hear about the Whole 360 Approach to a Patient’s Journey and more!
