WHAT ARE HAIR GRAFTS?

Did you know that the growth of human hair occurs in groupings of 1, 2, 3, or 4 hairs known as hair grafts? On average, each hair graft contains 2 hairs. These hair grafts are used in hair transplant procedures to create a fuller, natural-looking hairline by transplanting them from the donor area, typically located at the back of the head, to areas of thinning hair.

If you're considering a hair transplant or would like to learn more about the process, feel free to contact us for a free consultation. Our team of experts is here to help you achieve the hair of your dreams.

Did you know.....

❓ The hair growth cycle is comprised of four distinct phases.

❓ The initial three phases - anagen, catagen, and telogen - are responsible for hair growth, maturation, and the function of hair follicles that produce individual hairs. The final phase, exogen, involves the shedding of "old" hair, which is typically followed by the emergence of a new hair in its place.

❓ The anagen phase is the longest, lasting between 3 to 5 years for scalp hairs. However, for some individuals, a single hair may continue to grow for 7 or more years.

❓ During the anagen phase, the hair follicles generate hairs that will continue to grow until they are cut or reach the end of their lifespan and naturally fall out. At any given time, approximately 90% of scalp hairs are in the anagen phase.

❓ The anagen phase varies in duration depending on the type of hair, with eyebrow and p***c hairs having a much shorter anagen phase than scalp hairs.

Did You Know...

Female pattern hair loss is the most prevalent form of hair loss in women, according to the NHS. It can begin at any age, starting from the early teenage years and affecting 2-3% of women by the age of 30. The prevalence increases to 10% at age 50 and over 30% at age 70.

Typically, it manifests as a widespread reduction in hair density, primarily on the front and top of the scalp, with occasional involvement of the sides and back of the scalp. Consequently, the scalp becomes more visible through the hair, and the central parting appears wider.

If you are experiencing female pattern hair loss, we can provide assistance.
