Today is the day for a quiet check in on Pincha Mayurasana. Is there a magic formula?

๐ŸŒบNo expectations
๐ŸŒปFloat, donโ€™t throw
๐ŸŒธPress the floor
๐ŸŒทBreathe

And thenโ€ฆ surprise surprise, longer hold! ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿ˜ฒ

In Kakasana (Crow pose), your arms and shoulders create the shelf, your core responds, and only then balance follows. ๐Ÿ’ซ๐Ÿ˜‰

This is a compact shape that asks for quiet confidence. Everything needs to work together. Wrists and core get a lot of attention here, but itโ€™s the arms and shoulders that quietly do the heavy lifting so that you can achieve protraction, stability, and trust in your structure. ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ•‰๏ธ๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ

Where are you in your journey to Crow? ๐Ÿฅฐ

Strong and soft.
Grounded and rising.
Certain and unsure.

Yoga keeps teaching me this: we donโ€™t have to choose one side of ourselves.

My new blog post is out. Holding the Opposites. What Yoga Teaches About Living with Tension.

If life feels a little tense right now, this oneโ€™s for you. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ

Shoulders, shoulders, shoulders. So much load. So little attention. ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ™ƒ๐Ÿ˜…

They stabilise, transmit force, and quietly hold us up in planks, chaturangas, arm balances - yet often get treated as an afterthought.

Strong shoulders are about organisation, timing, and learning how to support movement rather than muscling through it. ๐Ÿ’ซ

Next time you are on the mat, notice what changes when you give your shoulders the same care you give your hips or hamstrings. ๐ŸŒท๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿฉท

Thanks for this lovely ๐Ÿ“ท

Virabhadrasana II - When the warrior opens the chest instead of the sword, strength starts to feel like surrender. ๐Ÿƒ

In that quiet moment between effort and ease, my breath reminds me that power can be soft.

Where you catch hold in Utthita Ardha Dhanurasana (Standing Half Bow) matters. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ankle, shin, or foot. Each changes the conversation between balance, range, and effort.

Lower hold: more leverage, stronger kick. ๐ŸŒŸ
Higher hold: less pull, more refinement. ๐ŸŒท

Thereโ€™s no โ€˜rightโ€™ grip here, just the one that lets you stay steady, breathing, and responsive.

Where do you tend to catch hold in this pose, and why? โฌ‡๏ธโฌ‡๏ธโฌ‡๏ธ

Eka Pada Galavasana or Flying Pigeon. Yes, itโ€™s about โ€˜taking flightโ€™, but more about staying with the work: core engaged, gaze steady, soft focus. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ’ซ๐Ÿ’•

Strength here is responsive. Balance happens with movement, not instead of it.

What helps you stay present when the work gets hard? ๐Ÿค—

The magic of yoga multiplies when shared. ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿ’ซ๐Ÿฅฐ

Every breath, every stretch, every moment becomes sweeter together. Iโ€™m so grateful for the lovely souls who flow, explore, and grow alongside me.
Yoga really feels like home when friends are there.

Thank you my dear yogi in crime Claire (pictured with me) ๐Ÿ’•

What shifts when we practise yoga together, even without touch or interaction?

You turn up to class feeling flat. You leave feeling a little steadier and maybe even energised. Nothing obvious happened, but a lot has changed.

In my latest blog article, I share some reflections on why group practice can feel so powerful. ๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒท
