If you're considering going teetotal or embarking on the journey, it's a good idea to mention it to your Healthcare Provider to ensure you get the necessary support.

Happy New Year beautiful people!!!

There's nothing like the start of a new year to help put things in perspective.

Last year, I learnt how easy it is for us to keep going on the 'hamster-wheel of life' without the necessary stock-take to ensure out time and efforts are invested in that which truly brings fulfilment and purpose - for me, one of those things is serving others to help them make the necessary changes in their health journey.

So, I've made some scary but significant changes this year. Changes that align with my purpose and why I am here on this amazing planet we call earth. Watch this space!

Where we invest our time and energy, is where we invest our lives. Invest wisely.

I've been busy beavering away on my library of presentations and workshops for the general public - my latest being on the request of the Equality, Diversion and Inclusion Manager of the NHS England Northwest Team.

As a black race, we are at a higher risk of certain diseases like stroke, hypertension, type II diabetes, and as black women, a higher risk of reocurring fibroids, associated complications and obesity.

While our diet is rich in cultural and an integral part of our heritage, it is one of the most effective modifiable risk factors in helping to reduce our disease risk.

I had the pleasure of presenting and discussing these issues with NHS workers last week as part of the Black History Month celebrations to help support dietary behaviour change in reducing the risk of key diseases in our race.

Simple dietary and lifestyle changes. One step at a time❤. Happy Black History Month!
