Over the past couple of years, I’ve been on and off Instagram trying to make this space work

Launching and relaunching ideas
Posting a lot, then not at all
Trying to share thoughtfully, and still feeling lost and overwhelmed in the sea of the algorithm

I don’t want to keep creating from that place,

and I don’t want to ‘just learn not to let it get to me’ when I see damaging stuff being normalised online

B.Balanced is also becoming more focused

More rooted in embodiment-first strength, physical resilience, and the kind of work that helps people build greater self-trust, capacity, and clarity under pressure.

More centred on coaching, workshops, and experiences with real depth and value.

Less shaped by generic wellness advice, constant visibility, or the pressure to produce content simply to stay ‘consistent’

A big part of this decision is practical, but it’s philosophical too…

I care so much about the quality of connection I’m building this brand around.

I don’t think more content always means more value
I don’t think more visibility always means more connection
And I don’t want to keep giving my attention to a space unless I have the time, energy, and resources to create in a way that feels genuinely worth sharing

So for now, I’m stepping back from Instagram as an active platform

Not because the work is shrinking, but because I want to stay close to what sits at the centre of my brand

This page will stay here as a signpost, but the main home of the work is now:

Website — for the clearest picture of B.Balanced
Newsletter — for deeper reflections, updates, and invitations
LinkedIn — for the more professional side of the work, including talks, workshops, and partnerships

Everything is linked in my bio

And if I come back here more actively later on, I want it to be with the capacity to make what I share truly valuable.

Thank you for being here 💜

A list of other hard things includes:
- trusting someone with your love
- sitting still long enough to get bored
- building a business from scratch
- going to live in another country by yourself
- putting yourself in situations where you know you could be rejected
- doing things you know you have a high chance of failing because if you know that if you fail, you’ll have gained experience and if you succeed, well you’ll have succeeded (I don’t think I need to put that any other way)
- doing things that the people around you aren’t doing despite knowing that it would be easier to just follow the crowd
- saying no to things that would solve today’s frustrations while creating tomorrow’s problems

Any others you can think of please share in the comments 💜

Slowing down doesn’t mean you stop

Sometimes it means taking stock so you can keep going for the long run

I did it with dance and training,

I’ve done with work and my business

Today was the first day of another chapter in a book that I hope will flourish after being set down for a little while 💜

It’s not about never doing what you love, or enjoying life
But sometimes I do think we avoid looking at the things that are secretly eating away at our resources, while we complain about never having enough time/money/energy

This year I gave up competitive powerlifting and pole dancing

Does that mean I no longer strength train or dance?
No.

It just means that I don’t spend excessive amounts of my time, money and energy doing them at a competitive level

So that I can focus on my business and my health in a way that aligns with my values and goals

Where are you ‘leaking’ time, money or focus on things that don’t fully align with your goals?

The things that make you feel good in the moment, but that distract you from what makes you fulfilled in the long-term?

It might be an uncomfortable question to answer, but I think it’s an important one for those of us trying to build something that has the potential for changing lives and positively impacting the world we live in 💜

*by squat to press here I mean the kind of squat to press you see people doing on the gym floor thinking they’re doing strength training

I’m not talking about DB thrusters or other variants as part of high intensity conditioning/finishers etc

It’s very rare that someone will be able to lift exactly the same weight for the same numbers of reps and it be challenging for both the squat and the overhead press if we’re talking about resistance training

And as a person who has work to get back to, I wouldn’t want to be wasting my time doing things that are ineffective and inefficient

Please let me know if you disagree in the comments, or if I’ve missed out any important nuance in how I’ve presented this post!
