Today we dare to speak about the Aspartame controversy....

📍​Aspartame, a popular artificial sweetener found in countless 'diet' and low-sugar products, has been the subject of decades-long debate regarding its safety.

📍​A comprehensive review of existing research highlights that while approved by major regulatory bodies within acceptable daily intake limits, its metabolism into components like phenylalanine, aspartic acid, and methanol has raised specific concerns, particularly with high or long-term consumption.

​The study mentions potential side effects and health concerns, including:

📍​Neuropsychiatric Effects: Aspartame is suspected of causing headaches, convulsions, and depression in some individuals by influencing the brain's neurochemical state and affecting serotonin and dopamine levels.

📍​Neurodegeneration: Long-term use may affect the cerebral and cerebellar cortex, potentially modifying neuronal functions and impacting learning and memory.
