"The past is never behind us, it's actually within us. The past doesn't get left behind. It travels with us, and at certain times, it wants attention. So the therapeutic idea that interests me is to take elements of the personal story, and put them in a mythological context, make the frame of the story bigger, and all of a sudden it becomes possible to see that the neglected, abandoned child in me is connected to the myths of the orphans. And the orphans are often the ones that, because the wound is so big, they're open to big energies coming in. And they often become the visionaries, the ones who can see a world that includes them, because they felt they were in a world that they were rejected from.
