Hair thinning in women is far more common than people realise.
Many women quietly struggle with seeing their hair become thinner over time, noticing a widening parting, more scalp showing under bright light, or feeling like their hair just doesn’t style the way it used to.
The reality is that female hair loss affects millions of women, yet it’s rarely spoken about openly.
In this case, my client sits around Stage I-3 on the Ludwig Scale, which is a commonly used scale to measure female pattern hair thinning.
At this stage you typically see:
• A widening of the central parting
• Reduced density through the mid-scalp
• Increased scalp visibility under lighting
However, there is still a good amount of surrounding hair, which actually makes this the ideal stage for Scalp Micropigmentation density work.
Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) for hair density works by carefully placing tiny pigment impressions between the existing hair follicles. This reduces the contrast between the scalp and the hair, creating the illusion of fuller, thicker hair.
The key is subtlety.
No harsh lines.
No unnatural colour.
Just soft, natural density that blends seamlessly with the hair you already have.
When performed correctly, SMP doesn’t replace hair, it simply enhances the appearance of the density that is already there.
For many women, the biggest change isn’t just the hair.
It’s the confidence that comes back with it.
