Quality Carers have had NO deaths and NO cases of Covid-19 since the outbreak!

This is from an article in the Guardian:
More than a quarter of all deaths of care home residents in England and Wales since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis involved Covid-19, official figures show.

Data from the Office for National Statistics reveals that in the period from 2 March to 1 May 2020, there were 45,899 registered deaths of care home residents , 12,526 (27.3%) of which involved the virus.

The research found there had been a sharp increase in both deaths involving Covid-19 among care home residents and deaths not involving it. Between 28 December and 1 May, there were 73,180 care home deaths, 23,136 more than the same period last year.

Here is a lovely message from the son of one of our lovely clients.

Good afternoon Julie

I thought you might like to know that sadly my Mother passed away this afternoon in the Nursing Home. A sad day but she had lived a long and full life and was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother and great grandmother. She will be much missed.

I just wanted to thank you for all you and your team did for her. She enjoyed the time she was looked after by all the Quality Carers, it was a happy time for her and you all did so much to prolong the quality of her life.

Hope you are coping OK in these difficult times. Keep safe and well.

🥳 We have heard from one of our carers that DELIVEROO are helping different supermarkets each day to deliver orders. Yesterday it was the Co-op and within 18 minutes of the carer paying for her order the stuff was delivered.

Coronavirus (COVID-19): Advice for professionals from the NHS

People who work in health and care settings should be extra vigilant about any new or developing symptoms.

Healthcare workers who have symptoms of COVID-19
If you’re a healthcare work and developed a new continuous cough and/or a fever/high temperature in the last 7 days, stay at home for 7 days from the start of your symptoms even if you think your symptoms are mild.

Phone your GP if your symptoms:

are severe or you have shortness of breath
worsen during home isolation
have not improved after 7 days
You should also phone your GP if you develop breathlessness or it worsens, especially if you:

are 60 years old or over
have underlying poor health
have heart or lung problems
have a weakened immune system, including cancer
have diabetes
If your GP is closed, phone NHS 24 (111).

If you have a medical emergency, phone 999 and tell them you have COVID-19 symptoms.
