Private Yoga London with Alonso Seixas High standard private Hatha Yoga and Chair Yoga lessons at my garden studio or at your home. Hello, I am Alonso Seixas.

I discovered yoga in Rio in the late eighties. Having experienced the benefits that yoga brought to my personal life and health, it became a natural impetus for me to share this knowledge with others seeking good health, well-being and positive changes in their lives. I am passionate about teaching yoga and witnessing my students evolve in their practice over time.

I've explored the main traditions of this ancient technique of self-refinement and cultivation and my method and ethos is to promote well-being through Hatha Yoga practice as a whole, with particular focus on alignment and breathing. In this way, my lessons are structured as concentration, asana, (postures) pranayama (breath control) and meditation. Lessons can also be tailored to the clients’ needs and/or interests.

Firstly, for my clients' trust, I have a DBS certificate, (police check) and am happy to provide you with a copy of it. Insured as a teacher and hold a British Wheel of Yoga Level 4 diploma. Level 4: Applied anatomy and physiology and the teaching of Asana / Observation, adjustment and protection of vulnerable areas of the body / Yoga breathing practices and relaxation /Hatha Yoga and Pranayama
Certified in teaching yoga for people with disabilities. Certified in Special Yoga and Mindfulness for Autism and ADHD

This is a quick tutorial on how to do GARUDASANA, the Eagle Pose

Step by step:

1️⃣ First stage

- Place a block on the outside of your left foot
- From Tadasana, bring hands to hips and bend knees deeply
- Shift the weight to left foot and release the right foot of the mat by lifting the knee high up
- Cross right thigh high over the left and either place the right foot on the block OR
- Tuck the foot or just the toes around the lower left leg
- Release hands of hips, lift arms straight ahead and cross right arm under the left
- Grab opposite shoulders simultaneously working hands towards each other round the back
- Keep pressing the upper arms agains each other and bring top of the hands to touch in front of eyes
- The higher hand now is the left.
- Drop it forward a little and bring it around towards the left side so the right fingertips may come to the left palm
- Lift elbows away from chest and roll shoulders back
- Bend standing leg a little more

2️⃣To come out

- Straighten the standing leg (left) while uncrossing the right one
- At the same time, uncross the arms
- Finish in Tadasana

💡Points to note

- Do not leaver space between the legs
- Do not allow upper arms to separate when bringing the hands to full posture
- Do not grab the fingers of the lower hand
- Do not grab the thumb of the higher hand
- Do not let the big toe of the left foot to lift, or you’ll loose balance
- The crossing of arms is always opposite to the crossing of the legs
