Hi everyone,

Throughout the coming weeks. I will be giving you tips on ways to support your mind, body and spirit.
During the current challenging times we are all experiencing how can we best help to support our psychological, physical and spiritual well-being? Well, by working together in creating a new routine which will help us to have focus and mental clarity.

Today we will be looking at the practice of Gratitude

What does it mean to practice gratitude. I suspect that most of us know what being grateful means. And as children may have been taught to say, ‘please and thank you’.
How often have we felt relieved that we escaped a dire situation.
Equally, we may have at one time or another felt appreciative after been given a gift or something nice we did not expect to receive.

What does it mean to practice gratitude on a daily basis?

A leading scientific expert on Gratitude Robert Emmons believes that there are two key components to gratitude:
“First it is an affirmation of Goodness.
We affirm that there are good things in the world, gifts and benefits we’ve received.
For the second part he explains “we recognise that the sources of goodness are outside of ourselves...

We acknowledge that other people...gave us many gifts, big and small to help us achieve the goodness in our lives”
So how does practicing gratitude help us in the current times that we are in?
It helps us build:

Physical
• Stronger immune systems
• Less bothered by aches and pains
• Lower blood pressure
• Exercise more and take better care of their health
• Sleep longer and feel more refreshed upon waking
Psychological
• Higher levels of positive emotions
• More alert, alive, and awake
• More joy and pleasure
• More optimism and happiness

Hi everyone,
I hope your all riding the eye of the storm and staying centred.
And using this time to regroup and reflect. I've just listened to this 60-minute talk by Peter Sage, which I found amazingly grounding and filled practical advice.
With great tips and ideas to help people through the current crisis.
I would like to ad that Peter wanted to re-name the title ‘training from protection’ to something a little more empowering...nevertheless it does the job...but don't just take my word for it check it out for yourself.

Hi and welcome to my new page for Spiritual counselling!

Launching something new is always exciting and yet sprinkled with a feeling of the unknown, yet I know that together we can find a way to reach into our own well of inner strength and turn on innate ability to restore balance in an uncertain world. I look forward to beginning this amazing journey.
Speaking of uncertainty?

How are we protecting ourselves from the virus and from fear?

Just like we have all been informed on how to take certain precautions to defend against the actual Covid 19 virus, we need to take precautions against the virus of anxiety and fear that is being passed around.

As we are all aware at the moment the world is going through major uncertainty, anxiety and fear, which is why I we should all try to Reduce our intake of fear based media, This is one of the recommendations of the World Health Organization - https://www.who.int/docs/default-source/coronaviruse/coping-with-stress.pdf?sfvrsn=9845bc3a_2 .

To the extent that you do expose yourself to it, keep your boundaries up and your fear filters on. For instance, before watching the news make sure that you do the zip up to strengthen your boundaries.
