Introducing Gestalt: Theory & Practice
Friday, January 16, 2026, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
One-Day Online Workshop
Gestalt uses powerful tools that focus on the individualโs present experience and the context of our experiences and actions. Studying Gestalt develops greater self-awareness and understanding, which can significantly enhance communication skills. It is an excellent complement to many coaching approaches and highly valuable for personal and professional development.
This one-day workshop provides an introduction to Gestalt, its fundamental principles, and an opportunity to explore the theory and practice of key Gestalt concepts.

โก Exploring Shame in Organisations - Weekend Workshop. 24th & 25th January 2026.
Shame is a powerful emotion. An intensely painful experience.
It comes up when we feel unworthy, like we are somehow not adequate or not โgood enoughโ.
As human beings, weโre wired for connection with others. As professionals and Organisations, we rely on it to progress and succeed.
Shame in teams and Organisations can be very toxic and damaging.
It is also taboo. It isnโt usually talked about.
In this workshop, we discuss shame and explore how it manifests in Organisational life.
Join us if you would like to:
โ Explore and understand shame and how it shows up for people and in Organisations
โ Examine how shame is established, triggered, and reactions to it
โ Learn how to recognise shame and relevant dynamics in behaviours, systems, and organisational cultures โ and how it differs from โguiltโ and โembarrassmentโ
โ Explore how to create โantidoteโ strategies that unlock potential to generate profound and positive change in organisations
โ Gain confidence in confronting and transforming shame in organisations
โ Find out about and experience key Gestalt approaches and practices, such as the power of working in the โhere and nowโ to enable awareness, meaningful relationships, effective communication, and change

The Gestalt Centre story started in 1980, with a small group of therapists who had experienced the transformative power of the holistic and humanistic gestalt approach in helping people gain quality of life and wellbeing that comes from โhere and nowโ awareness, creativity and resourcefulness, diversity and community, with genuine relationships and connections with ourselves, people and our environment. These were and still are, key organisational principles and our wish to enable the psychological well-being of individuals, groups and organisations through Gestalt education, training and practice, became our purpose.
The Gestalt Centre has been fast growing, into a dynamic organisation that runs and hosts a range of counselling, psychotherapy, personal and professional development courses and a range of therapeutic practices that enhance mental and psychological wellbeing.
We are proud to report nearly 40 years of training excellence with UKCP/BACP accredited courses, enabling the training and growth of outstanding counselling and psychotherapy practitioners and a vibrant community of practice that now runs from our centre and beyond.
In a true Gestalt fashion, in 2018, we intentionally paused and reflected on our journey so far and how we wish to shape our future as an organisation. We acknowledged and considered where we are at as an organisation and the world around us and spoke to colleagues, clients, members and friends about our wishes and hopes for the future. These conversations led to the development of our organisation strategy for the future.
Our 2018-22 Strategy is inspired by gestalt as an innovative life-changing approach that enables people and organisations to enhance wellbeing and lead fulfilling lives with mindful awareness, tapping into oneโs own resourcefulness, and linking with our environment and people around us, to successfully navigate change. Our whole strategy is about meaningful, mindful and dynamic connections with ourselves, our organisation, others around us and our environment.
Deeply connecting with GC values, who we are and where weโre going
Meaningfully connecting with each other with kindness and understanding
Connecting with our internal dynamics and the external environment, the opportunities and challenges they offer, with mischievous curiosity, resilience and resourcefulness.
