โšก Exploring Shame in Organisations - Weekend Workshop. 24th & 25th January 2026.
Shame is a powerful emotion. An intensely painful experience.
It comes up when we feel unworthy, like we are somehow not adequate or not โ€˜good enoughโ€™.

As human beings, weโ€™re wired for connection with others. As professionals and Organisations, we rely on it to progress and succeed.
Shame in teams and Organisations can be very toxic and damaging.
It is also taboo. It isnโ€™t usually talked about.

In this workshop, we discuss shame and explore how it manifests in Organisational life.

Join us if you would like to:

โœ… Explore and understand shame and how it shows up for people and in Organisations

โœ… Examine how shame is established, triggered, and reactions to it

โœ… Learn how to recognise shame and relevant dynamics in behaviours, systems, and organisational cultures โ€” and how it differs from โ€˜guiltโ€™ and โ€˜embarrassmentโ€™

โœ… Explore how to create โ€˜antidoteโ€™ strategies that unlock potential to generate profound and positive change in organisations

โœ… Gain confidence in confronting and transforming shame in organisations

โœ… Find out about and experience key Gestalt approaches and practices, such as the power of working in the โ€˜here and nowโ€™ to enable awareness, meaningful relationships, effective communication, and change

We are recruiting a Trainer for our Groupwork Programme!๐ŸŽ“โœจ
As professionals working with people, we are required to work collectively in groups and teams. Working together this way can be highly effective, impactful, rich, and rewarding work.

Creating, developing, and working with teams and groups effectively requires a range of skilful facilitation capacities, including relational capabilities, group dynamics work, self-awareness, and reflexivity.
Our Group Facilitation Programme is designed for people who facilitate groups and lead teams, or are planning to do so, both face-to-face and online.

It is a successful Gestalt Centre programme, running for over 20 years, evolving and growing with new content. Participants come from a range of backgrounds and settings, which enhances the learning. This includes people working with groups and teams such as coaches, consultants and OD practitioners, team leaders and senior executives, health practitioners, therapists, teachers, and many others.

As the programme is growing, weโ€™re looking to recruit an additional Trainer for the ONLINE and IN-PERSON formats of the programme.

Weโ€™re looking for someone with:

โ€ข Extensive Gestalt training/experience in organisational settings, ideally as a coach, OD practitioner, or therapist
โ€ข Extensive experience working in relational and psychologically informed ways
โ€ข Extensive training experience in a variety of settings, including online formats
โ€ข Good knowledge of online training delivery platforms
โ€ข Wide-ranging experience of working in/with organisations
If the above resonates with you, get in touch!

โœจWorking with Complex Dynamics in Organisations?
Last Chance to book -13th & 14th December 2025

In organisations today, dynamics are rarely straightforward.
Teams face shifting priorities, stakeholders bring competing agendas, and leaders are under pressure to manage challenges and deliver quality โ€“ pronto!

These challenges are at their core: human and relational. They show up in tensions between colleagues, frictions across teams, or the unspoken undercurrents that can slow progress.

The question is: how do you work with these dynamics โ€“ and succeed?

The Gestalt in Organisations: Core Concepts course is designed to help you with exactly that. In two days of experiential learning, you will:

โœ…Gain awareness of yourself, others, and organisational dynamics.
โœ… Understand what drives and blocks relationships, engagement, and change.
โœ…Build confidence to influence and shape dynamics with colleagues, teams, and stakeholders.
โœ…Strengthen your ability to use yourself more skilfully as a leader in complex situations.
โœ…Establish a solid grounding in the humanistic and relational Gestalt principles and practice, applying them to your real-life challenges.

This isnโ€™t about yet another course for you. Itโ€™s about enhancing your professional development to develop the awareness, clarity, and confidence you need to navigate complexity โ€“ and lead people through it effectively.

If youโ€™re working with complex dynamics and competing priorities, this course is for you.

Our Story

The Gestalt Centre story started in 1980, with a small group of therapists who had experienced the transformative power of the holistic and humanistic gestalt approach in helping people gain quality of life and wellbeing that comes from โ€˜here and nowโ€™ awareness, creativity and resourcefulness, diversity and community, with genuine relationships and connections with ourselves, people and our environment. These were and still are, key organisational principles and our wish to enable the psychological well-being of individuals, groups and organisations through Gestalt education, training and practice, became our purpose.

The Gestalt Centre has been fast growing, into a dynamic organisation that runs and hosts a range of counselling, psychotherapy, personal and professional development courses and a range of therapeutic practices that enhance mental and psychological wellbeing.

We are proud to report nearly 40 years of training excellence with UKCP/BACP accredited courses, enabling the training and growth of outstanding counselling and psychotherapy practitioners and a vibrant community of practice that now runs from our centre and beyond.

In a true Gestalt fashion, in 2018, we intentionally paused and reflected on our journey so far and how we wish to shape our future as an organisation. We acknowledged and considered where we are at as an organisation and the world around us and spoke to colleagues, clients, members and friends about our wishes and hopes for the future. These conversations led to the development of our organisation strategy for the future.
