I overheard the term “divide and conquer” being used in somebody’s sales meeting this morning whilst in my local coffee shop. It transpired she worked for a dental care company and I would LOVE to know in what context that term was being used for a company in *health* and *care*. Oxy, moron.

This term is rooted in a strategy aimed at gaining and maintaining power and control through division.

Now, unlike any social media strategy that’s designed to create value. This strategy creates no value at all, for us, the common people. Division, like my to do list, is never ending.

I present a new term, for a new age “unite and prosper” because mark my words, it’s the only way any of us are going to thrive in this life.

Unite and prosper. Now, imagine that.

📝 Other points to discuss:

People talk bollox in meetings. If you took the bollox out of meetings, you could probably reduce meetings by days.

Meetings should not be conducted in public places and ruin everyone else’s day too.

Imagine that 🤔 Bliss ✨

I’m aware of the irony of using social media to promote this.

Birthday wisdom ♏️ edition

Another birthday and with it came some wisdom…

Birthdays should be celebrated like Christmas 🎄

Birthday Eve
Birthday
Birthday Post (if you can think of a better term…)

It’s too much pressure to fit the celebrations in to one day.

You should never have to plan your own party. Parties are meant to be enjoyable. They never are when you get the last minute blowouts hours before the party. OK, so who wants to plan my birthday party next year?! Anyone?

I got reminiscent on the eve of this year’s birthday and I wrote some of the wisdom I’d gained so far. These are the things I really wish I had known sooner and took me either a lot of time or a lot of money to learn. I share them over on Substack to save you that time and money.

These are the things that set me free.

You’ll also find my intention for this next year. Maybe you want to join me.

OK, hope that helps.

Have a good one ✨

TCM Autumn | The Metal Element 🍃

Autumn is the season of Metal - the alchemist within us.
It’s a time to refine, release and return to what’s essential.
Like ore purified by fire, we transform experience into wisdom.

Metal teaches clarity, discipline and self-worth.
When balanced, we feel connected and clear.
When imbalanced, we cling to the past or lose our sense of purpose.

The lungs, our inner alchemists, turn breath into vitality (qi/chi).

Metal reminds us:
True worth isn’t in what we collect, but in what we distill.
Letting go isn’t a loss - it’s making space for light. 🤍

“When the last leaf falls, the sky becomes visible again.”

🍂✨Autumn in Traditional Chinese Medicine ✨🍂

In TCM, autumn is the season of the Metal element, a time of refinement, clarity and letting go. Just as the trees release their leaves, we’re invited to shed what no longer serves us.

The Lungs + Large Intestine guide this season:

🌬 The Lungs teach us to receive inspiration.
🕊 The Large Intestine helps us release with grace.

✨ Emotional wisdom: Grief and gratitude are intertwined - when we allow space for release, we open ourselves to awe, reverence and inspiration.

This season invites us to breathe (live) deeply, honor our boundaries and carry only what truly nourishes us.

If, like me, you love this time of year and feel excited to embrace it through the lens of TCM wisdom, I’ve written a Substack post to inspire you. If you’re a subscriber (which I highly recommend) you’ll find it shining a light ✨ in your inbox 📥 Also, link in bio 💌

And if you’d like to embody this seasonal energy on a physical level, join me every Sunday for Yin Yoga

Remind yourself of the strengths that set you apart from the crowd.

Don’t give up what makes you special to belong.

You’re not meant to blend in.

I love you, you little rays of sunshine 🌞

Big love 🖤❤️🤍💚

TO DO

LESS

Just for one day.

Flip the script.

Instead of trying to accomplish more. Try doing less.

Quieten the external noise to amplify the inner voice.

How does your body feel? When? Where?

What brings you pleasure today? And how much pleasure can you experience today?

OK.

(I’m not physically on a beach today but mentally I’m getting there…. 🏖️)

TO BE

Sometimes you just need time to be. I’m reminded as I sit here this beautiful Bank Holiday Monday (in the UK) of all the things I could do and get on with and all the places I could go, that you also need time to be. We call it the rebound in yin yoga. Time for the dust to settle so to speak, for the mind and body to sift, sort and process all that we have done, seen and heard (it’s a lot).

I come for two different camps (as I like to call it). One from a very working class mentality whose worth is pinned to their output, very anxious and guilty when idle. The other is about family, feasts and connection. I often find myself caught between the two,

As I sit under the trees with Rudy at my feet, I feel contentment. My neighbour comes to chat and we share words that connect. In everything we do isn’t it all for contentment and connection? I think the things we want and need the most aren’t that far from us if only we put down our tools (or weapons) and appreciate the beauty and people around us.

Look up ☝🏼👀🌴🌞

BE

🖤❤️🤍💚

RAVING

By raving I mean practising and teaching yoga, wandering around RHS Wisley, listening to podcasts while cleaning the kitchen cupboards, fed up of “influencers” selling me stuff on behalf of large corporations but not influencing the stuff that really would make this world a better place like love, kindness, justice and looking out for moments of joy in the everyday (no matter how suspicious I am of it )

You get me?

How is everyone doing?

thank you for an awesome weekend, never did I think Glastonbury would get knocked-off my number 1 spot.

got the weekend off with a bang

take me back a long way… being lured to the stage with Talisman gave me goosebumps

DJ and MC, come on. Realising Dirty Cash is making a return was music to my ears

Dancing with rabbits

The Hustle kept hustling.

Following DJing in a car surrounded by whirling dancing Goddess’s

The trees were mystical and mesmerising

Swimming in the lake

Given the responsibility of a flashing stick which I used to bless people with the power of dance to go out and use it for good

in The Valley dancing with old school friends. Ah, Rectory, it may not have been the best place to get an education but it certainly was special in terms of the people that went there.

My steps say it all.

I heard Wilderness Festival had no backstage / access only area and I love that. It just felt like everyone was equal and together. That and music, dancing, nature, people enjoying themselves and having fun, that’s my nirvana

Inspired and heart full.

Thank you to everyone who made it so.

See you next year

p.s. I’m probably going to regret those glasses
