Evidence of a surgeon’s performance is out there. Take Mr Hugh Apthorp at London Bridge Hospital. 63.2% of his hip replacement patients describe the results 6 months post-op as “Excellent”*. Drinking excessive amounts of alcohol can:
- prolong hospital stay
- increase the likelihood of surgical complications, such as infections
- increase the likelihood of excessive bleeding
