It all starts here.
Birth, nourishment, creation, digestion, protection.
The womb, the bridge between spirit and the tangible, with the tan tien, the most potent energy centre. The abdomen is a reservoir of vital energy and a repository of memories. The engine, the emotional core, the place where we process and digest, and the rubbish dump. Home to the first brain.
The Taoists discovered that the internal organs connect with the forces of the universe, and link between the human microcosm and the universal macrocosm. This in essence, explains how the inner harmony of our human vessel is in direct correlation with outer experience. Where we meet our experience of life with resistance, we obstruct our life energy from flowing.
When I came across Chi Nei Tsang, it all made sense, and as someone who has noticed the tension stored in my stomach through my life, I wanted to gain deeper understanding. Upon training, this work’s healing was clearly coherent on all levels, more so than any other modality I had experienced.
I am consistently at awe with the healing that comes through simply holding the body, the most vulnerable area we store and protect so much. Through simply acknowledging and bringing presence to what has been, and giving it space to move through. The practice works from the heart down to the sexual organs - which through a patriarchal lens we have come to believe is all separate. In fact an intricate system and home to great power.
From being toilet trained as children, we understand that praise and reward comes with controlling our bladder. This then extends to other areas - sexual, emotional, spiritual, vocal - we learn to control, and this leads to dis-ease.
Chi Nei Tsang releases the blocked energy and emotions in the abdomen, allowing new life flow, to experience life as it is now and not in the limits of stagnant energy, we can become connected to the body more deeply. The body has wisdom beyond what our mind can conceive, and our capacity for healing and regeneration is much simpler than we have believed.
