CONGRATULATIONS to Ellen and James who completed an epic 100km non-stop walk this weekend along the South Coast Path, all in support of their beloved friend Amy!
They’ve raised a Wapping £2,125 and counting for the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability (RHN), where Amy has been a resident for the past 3 years. The funds will go directly to COMPASS, RHN’s amazing Assistive and Rehabilitation Technology Service, which plays a vital role in helping people like Amy live with greater independence and dignity.

Amy’s next milestone is a motorised wheelchair, which will give her the freedom to move, grow and progress even further on her journey.

From all of us at the RHN, thank you Ellen & James for your strength, dedication, and heart. And thank you to everyone who donated and supported them on this incredible challenge!

Eleni Readman, recently completed a 4,000km cycle from London to Istanbul in just 34 days. Carrying mostly her own kit and supplies, Eleni took on this formidable challenge in memory of her father, who acquired a brain injury and received care for two years at the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability (RHN).

Driven by determination, Eleni was able to raise £4,000, exceeding her goal by 400%, to support the work of the RHN. We thank her for her commitment, resilience, and sheer determination to complete such a difficult challenge.

💪 Coralyn took on a 100kg squat challenge to support the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability – and raised an amazing £300!
Her goal was to shine a light on the positive impact weightlifting can have on both physical and mental health, and to share that inspiration with patients.

Our Summer Fete was a brilliant success that brought together local families, patients, and staff in true community spirit.

With a feel reminiscent of a traditional village fair, the grounds were full of laughter, music, food, and fun. Highlights included a magic show, games, stalls, and plenty of delicious food and refreshments.

We also had a live performance from Nicky Campbell, who performed four songs from his new album, joined by his talented daughter Kirsty.

We had an amazing time last weekend in the sunny weather, hosting the EMERGE! Art Exhibition ☀️🎨

The Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability had the honour of welcoming the Deputy Mayor Cllr. Birchal, along with members of Wandsworth Council, to our art exhibition. This was a project created and curated by patients with complex neurological conditions as part of the Wandsworth Arts Fringe Festival.

Developed by the hospital’s Occupational Art Therapy Team, the exhibition was a celebration of creative empowerment and self-expression. It showcased a diverse collection of patient artwork, including paintings and prints, many of which were produced using adaptive technologies that support independent artistic creation.

The project was led by RHN Art Room Technicians Krystyna Pezinska and Sian Cook, in collaboration with Roopa Basu, an independent curator and entrepreneur. With support from a Wandsworth Council grant, the team guided the entire process, from securing funding to curating the final exhibition; offering patients the tools, encouragement, and confidence to create art that is both deeply personal and profoundly expressive.

We would like to say a massive thank you to Krystyna and Sian. Their hard work, creativity, and dedication have been truly inspirational, enabling many of our patients to feel empowered through creating art.

An incredible start to Pride Month. Our Pride Celebration Extravaganza was a huge success, with the fabulous Pixie Polite lighting up the stage. From Queen and I Want to Break Free to Frank Sinatra’s New York, New York and ABBA’s Dancing Queen, the hits kept coming and the energy was electric.

This event was a true testament to the diversity and inclusivity we celebrate every day at RHN. Thank you to our Wellbeing Team, Kaleb and Davinia for organising such energetic and occasion.

Join us for the Pride Parade on 5 July as we continue to celebrate love, equality, and community.
