Last week, our Music Therapy department welcomed Dr Jill Collins and Dr Andrew Stocky, two doctors from Melbourne, Australia. They joined us for a day of observations and conversations with our team, including Amanda, Michael, Oliver and Tony.

Jill and Andrew are exploring how music therapy can be established within rehabilitation services in Melbourne, and have been visiting sites where it is already making a difference. We were delighted to share our approach and show how music therapy supports our patients. Jill and Andrew expressed their appreciation for the collegiality, thoughtfulness, passion and good humour of the team, and we look forward to keeping in touch.

A huge shoutout to Max & Henry, this amazing team who took on a 24-hour tennis match.
This incredible event was organised in honour of their friend currently recovering at the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability (RHN). Your support means the world all at the RHN. Thank you to everyone who played, organised, supported and donated.

🎨 What an incredible evening at RHN! 🥂

Our latest Sip & Paint event was a huge success! An evening filled with laughter, creativity, and vibrant inspiration drawn from colour and nature.

A heartfelt thank you to the talented local artists, so closely connected to RHN, who generously gave their time and passion to make this event possible. Your creativity brought joy to all who joined!

We’re thrilled to share that the event raised around £1,000 in support of our Arts Therapy programme, which plays a vital role in the rehabilitation process and enhances the quality of life for our residents.

Here’s to more moments of art, community, and making a difference together

Members of the Kingston Inner Wheel Club made a generous donation of 25 handmade bags of toiletries to the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability (RHN) this week. After hearing about the RHN through one of our fundraising campaigns, they were so impressed with the work we do, they decided to support our patients by providing hygiene items like toothbrushes, toothpaste and soap for those who arrive at the hospital with nothing.

Their donation was gratefully received on behalf of the RHN by Fundraising and Operations Manager, Emile Leigh and will be distributed to patients in need by our Leisure and Family Services team.

👏 A Huge Thank You to This Incredible Team! 👏

These amazing guys have completed the Three Peaks Challenge and a tennis tournament, all in honour of their friend Archie, who is on his recovery journey after a brain injury at the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability.

Not only did they conquer the challenge, but they’ve also raised an incredible £6,887 (and counting!) for RHN Charity!

Your efforts help us continue providing specialist care, therapies, and rehabilitation support for our patients and their families. Every step you climbed and every ball you served makes a real difference.

Thank you for being an inspiration to us all!

Last Friday, we were delighted to welcome a very cheerful group from Kristo Asafo Church to the RHN. They came to visit a member of their congregation and with such generosity, donated £200 to the hospital as well as a wonderful supply of toiletries for our patients on Andrew Reed’s ward.

What a joyful visit it was! Your kindness and warmth truly brightened our day. Thank you so much and please come again soon!

Corporate Volunteer Sustainability Day - Thank You, Abbott Team!
Yesterday, we welcomed a team of five corporate volunteers from Abbott Laboratories (a valued healthcare partner and provider).

They generously dedicated a full day to help us tidy up the patios and w**d at Haberdasher’s House and really got their sleeves rolled up building a raised bed for what will be the Community Herb Garden.

Their energy, hard work and enthusiasm made a real difference to the spaces which will be enjoyed by residents, their families and our staff community.

A huge thank you to the Abbott team for getting stuck in. Your time and effort was outstanding!
