Happy New Year from knus đź’›

As we step into a new year, we’re reminded of what truly matters - kindness, connection, and the courage to show up for one another. Thank you to everyone who has been part of the knus community this year: those who reached out, those who listened, and those who chose to walk alongside someone who needed support.

After Christmas, there’s often a quiet drop for most. The decorations come down, the messages slow, and the pace of life suddenly changes. It can feel relieving… or strangely heavy.

This is your reminder that it’s okay to soften now. To rest without explaining yourself. To let your nervous system settle after weeks of rushing, socialising, spending and holding it all together.

Wellbeing doesn’t mean fixing anything right now. It can be as simple as a slower morning, a deep breath before checking your phone, a walk with no destination or an early night without guilt.

You don’t need to start the year perfectly. You don’t need big goals today. Sometimes the kindest thing you can do after Christmas is pause, recharge and give yourself permission to just be.

Day 25 - Practice Deep Self-Kindness

Rest. Unplug. Treat yourself gently. We often forget that we deserve the same compassion we give others. When you care for yourself, your emotional capacity grows - kindness becomes sustainable, not exhausting.

A Thank You to Our Volunteers as 2025 becomes 2026!

As we come to the close of 2025, we want to pause and say a sincere thank you to every volunteer who has given their time, care, and belief to knus this year.

This year has been one of real momentum and meaningful progress.

What we’ve achieved together in 2025:

We are now entering beta testing of the new knus app, available on Apple and Android. The app brings together chat, telephone, and video support in one place, with easy booking for service users and simple scheduling for volunteers. We’re aiming for a full launch at the end of January, following successful beta testing - and we’re calling out to volunteers and members of the public who would like to be part of the beta.

We successfully completed two accelerators: the Hatch Enterprise Accelerator and the School of Social Entrepreneurs Accelerator - strengthening our foundations and sharpening our impact.

We secured a place on Hatch Enterprise’s “Sales to Scale” UBS Deep Dive programme, supported by UBS Bank, starting early January 2026. We’re beginning the new year exactly as we mean to go on.

We onboarded 210 new volunteers across peer support and admin roles, alongside many passionate new ambassadors helping spread the knus mission.

We enhanced our training and social platforms, bringing more in-house capability through grant funding and fundraising efforts.

Looking ahead to 2026, our focus is clear:

Launching the app after final bug-crunching
Enhancing volunteer perks
Growing our fundraising initiatives
Building closer business partnerships to widen access to knus services for everyone who needs them

None of this would be possible without you.

Thank you for your contributions, patience, kindness, and dedication - whether you supported someone directly, helped behind the scenes, tested ideas, or simply showed up when it mattered.

A reminder of something truly special about knus:

We are completely bootstrapped. No one at knus is paid - every role is powered solely by volunteers. What you have helped build exists solely because people choose to give their time, energy, and heart to support others.

You are the reason knus exists.
You are the reason it’s growing.
And you are the reason we’re stepping into 2026 with hope and confidence.

With gratitude,

The knus Team

Pass on stories, learning, or comfort. Books connect us through ideas and imagination. Sharing a book is sharing a part of yourself and it might reach someone at just the right moment.
