꩜Monthly Scrapbook꩜

December was a bit of a blur, between trying to catch up with friends inbetween all of the festive chaos, I've found it really hard to reflect on the last month! There were so many lovely moments though! I spent almost every evening making Christmas presents and trying not to be consumed by seasonal depression to be honest!

Christmas was lovely. Just a quiet time with my family. Remember, now that it's "new year," you may feel the pressure to push forward and give yourself a million goals, but we are in the dead of winter! Try to embrace the slowness. Plant the seeds of what you want, but don't be disheartened if things take a little time to come to fruition.

I'm taking a break from daily readings, so, while we're still in the weird week where no one knows what day it is (myself included 😂), here's a look at some of the presents I got this year for Christmas! This isn't something I'd usually share, but I really feel so loved! I recieved so many handmade gifts, and such thoughtful gifts! (I didn't take pictures of everything because let's face it, a lot of it was chocolate and is now half eaten 😂)

As the seasons change and I notice just how untidy my altar becomes, it reminds me that the purpose of having an altar is, in fact, tending to it! It's not about having a picture perfect space (as much as I enjoy it looking this tidy!) But it's about taking the time and giving the space love, care and attention (and intention!). I'd always rather have an altar that I actually work at, than one that stays looking like this. I've really enjoyed cleaning and resetting my altar today. Moving it from summer/autumn, into winter. (If I didn't use the space at all, it'd become so stagnant and neglected!)

I've hung up some evergreen branches that I found, cleared away the dust, and created a space where I can celebrate the light slowly returning after the solstice!

It will get messy again, covered in dust and ash, and I will clean it again, and again, and again ❤️
