As I come to the close of my physiotherapy degree, a question arrives over and over from the people in clinic and the people who have trained me and those in my creative worlds ‘What will you do with your new qualification? And how will this work in your world?’ 📚
For me, it seems pretty simple.
I’m a creative through and through and that extends into my role as a clinician. 📚
When I’m with a patient I adjust my tone, body language, and listening skills based on what I read in the room. People’s treatment plans are administered from a place of creation with their needs at the centre. Seeing the full person and leading from there is a key concept within all I’ve been taught and this is how we go back to the start of it all. But this time we’re different. 📚
The creative industry is lucky to have you but does it see all of you? Have you been hiding the parts of yourself that you feel won’t fit or are you under the illusion that your capacity to achieve is limited by who you are or what you live with each day inside your body and mind? 📚
This is where we get to change the rules, because the confidence found in understanding the body, pathologies and diseases, the nervous system, the respiratory system and the process of healing means that finally everything that we are can be explored in one space. One very Brave Space. So what will I do with my new qualification? Let’s see. 📚

📖 🔥 It’s time to look at everything we are - because you don’t come here to live a half existence defined by your looks, talent, size, gender, sexuality, pathology, diagnoses, biopsychosocial status. You are everything; and arriving as a creative in full knowledge and power of that will ALWAYS bring you the results you desire. Because when you own everything in the space, unapologetically, that’s your own brand of magic. And that’s unstoppable. 🔥 📕 Let’s build this Brave Space the way it was always meant to be. Behind the BRAVE is a person who knew that something wasn’t quite right in how they were interacting with the world around them. So they took a step back. A step sideways into clinical knowledge that would allow them a perspective that would bring all the pieces together of what they were experiencing each day as they entered their own, at the time, not so brave spaces. Studying in detail the respiratory system from a physiotherapy perspective, working with Neuro plasticity in people ages 0-100 on clinical placement, getting to the nitty gritty and truth of anatomy and how we function movement by movement; this wasn’t, in fact, a step back. It was a deep desire to push the button on gaining the clarity they needed to re enter in a way that allowed them to be exactly as they were. Armed with their new found knowledge and a drive to heal, support and excel with all people from all backgrounds they stepped intentionally into the ring. Finally. Bravely. And they never looked back. Welcome to me. Let’s enjoy the ride.
