Feeling really spoiled by lovely patients and the team as it was my last day working there today! Now only just over 2 more weeks working and that’s me ready for some nesting time before our baby boy arrives! I am taking the opportunity to test some pregnancy and postpartum products first hand, in particular as I prepare for a second C-section so that I can advise my patients better on my return :)

I have a lot of busy shifts at work before I go on maternity leave mid-April but I am also trying to make sure to take some time to rest and recharge before baby number 2 arrives.

What does The Mummy MOT Include?
- 1-hour post-natal assessment with a Specialist post-natal practitioner
- In-depth check of pelvic floor strength, tummy gap and C-section scar if applicable
- Assessment of any physical problems arising from pregnancy and birth
- A bespoke post-natal recovery programme devised especially for you, your lifestyle and your fitness goals. This includes specific and safe post-natal exercises to improve stability, posture and core strength

Inviting all parents/ carers with a baby up to 6 months old to join my upcoming baby massage workshop at the Penn Clinic on Thursday 2nd March 2023 between 11-11.45am (£12).

I am a registered osteopath and a certified baby massage instructor and Mummy MOT practitioner.

Babies are born with an immature gut which is why they often struggle particularly in the first 4 months of life. During this baby massage workshop you will learn some simple massage strokes and movements you can use with your baby at home to help relieve some of those tummy symptoms such as constipation or trapped wind.

Often mums to be and new mums don’t get enough information to feel empowered on their journey and the Pregnancy and Mummy MOT consultations really provide a much needed space for women to feel heard and receive the assessment and care they deserve.

For instance you might be worried you have a tummy gap or a prolapse, you might experience incontinence or joint pain such as pelvic girdle pain, wrist, neck, shoulders or back pain.
You might want your C-scar to be checked and receive some guidance and scar massage to help with discomfort or pulling sensations. Or perhaps you would just like some reassurance before returning to your favourite activities!
