Congratulations to our Trauma and Orthopaedics department, who have achieved 100 overall satisfaction score in the latest GMC National Training Survey 🥳

🔁

I’m absolutely delighted to share that the Trauma and Orthopaedics department at Croydon University Hospital has achieved a 100% overall satisfaction score in the latest GMC National Training Survey, a truly outstanding and nationally unique result!

Even more impressively, we received 100% scores across multiple key domains, including:
✅ Clinical Supervision
✅ Educational Supervision
✅ Adequate Experience
✅ Educational Governance
✅ Study Support
✅ Overall Satisfaction

After reviewing the national data, Croydon is currently the only trust in the country to have achieved a perfect score in overall satisfaction for T&O, a powerful reflection of the incredible work and culture we've built.

This result is not just about numbers. It represents the collaboration, dedication, and resilience of an extraordinary team, committed to delivering high-quality training and support for our future surgeons , even amidst ongoing service pressures and national challenges.

This accomplishment has not come without its challenges. On a personal level, it has been incredibly demanding, it is incredibly important to me, as Clinical Lead, to ensure that our trainees receive the guidance, support, and learning opportunities they deserve. I have consistently gone above and beyond to advocate for their needs, listen to their feedback, and make meaningful changes to improve their experience.
A huge thank you to our consultants, trainees, educational supervisors, our education and training lead, and all our colleagues who made this possible.

We’re proud of what we’ve achieved and we’re eager to share our best practices regionally to help support excellence across the wider training network.

Here’s to setting the standard and lifting others with us!

🏆 We’ve won a National Patient Safety Award! 🏆

Congratulations to our amazing team behind the opt-out HIV testing initiative in the Emergency Department — winners of the Royal College of Physicians’ Excellence in Patient Care Award 2025 in the Patient Safety category!

Thanks to this innovative project, we’ve seen earlier HIV diagnoses, shorter hospital stays, lower transmission rates and reduced healthcare costs.

Running since 2020, the initiative is a brilliant example of what’s possible through collaboration between our HIV team, Emergency Department, Digital Services and partners. Judges praised its simplicity, strong ex*****on and measurable impact on patient safety.

👏 Well done to everyone involved — making care safer, smarter, and more accessible for all.

Our Radiology and Endoscopy teams were in for a treat as the Thirst Responders trolley made it's appearance on their wards🛒💙

The trolley was jam-packed with it's usual assortments of refreshments, fruits and snacks - with the special addition of cupcakes and ice lollies to help keep staff cool during the hot weather!🌞

This wouldn't be possible without the Croydon Health Charity who fund the trolley and our Wellbeing team who work hard to support our staff members day in, day out 🙌
