I’d love to hear your experience on this…
When you're in pain — emotionally or physically — what do you tend to do? Do you share how you feel even when you don't feel like it or silence yourself to manage your pain?
When we think of arthritis, chronic pain, or joint stiffness, we often think only in physical terms — cartilage, inflammation, wear and tear. But what if part of your healing also depends on your emotional well-being?
Here’s what we now know:
Mental health and musculoskeletal pain are deeply linked. Chronic stress can increase cortisol levels, which amplifies inflammation — the very thing we try to reduce in conditions like osteoarthritis and joint disorders. Depression and anxiety can also intensify the perception of pain, lower energy levels, and decrease motivation to engage in treatment. This creates a frustrating loop that many of our clients at Reema Physio & Wellness find themselves stuck between pain and emotional overwhelm.
Whether it’s joint stiffness, flare-ups, fatigue, or persistent aches — your emotional state may be quietly influencing it all.
