A client said to me today:

“Why do I feel like I’m moving with every wind since midlife?”

There’s a quote I love:
“When the roots are deep, there is no reason to fear the wind.”

In midlife, the wind can feel stronger.

Shifting hormones affect energy, stress response, sleep, blood sugar and even cholesterol.

The leaves are the symptoms:
Fatigue. Weight gain. Poor sleep. Anxiety.

But the roots?

Metabolic health.
Hormone balance.
Muscle mass.
Nervous system regulation.
Consistent nourishment.

As a metabolic hormone movement nutritionist, I help women over 40 stop chasing symptoms and start strengthening foundations.

Because resilience in midlife really isn’t about pushing harder it’s about building deeper roots.

Small steps. Repeated. Change everything.

💾 Save this if you’re ready to support the roots.

Cholesterol often rises in perimenopause even when your diet hasn’t changed.

Many women only discover this on a routine blood test and immediately blame eggs or dietary fat.

But it’s more complex than that.

Oestrogen influences lipid metabolism.

As levels fluctuate:

• LDL can increase
• HDL can shift
• Insulin sensitivity may decline
• Visceral fat can accumulate more easily

This is physiology not failure

The solution isn’t restriction.

It’s:

✔ Building muscle through progressive strength training
✔ Supporting blood sugar regulation
✔ Eating adequate protein and fibre
✔ Managing stress because cortisol influences fat distribution

Midlife needs strategy.

Save this if you’re navigating perimenopause.
Share it with someone worrying about their cholesterol.

You’re not alone so many women over 40 feel wired but tired. Women tell me “I’m exhausted, but the minute I lie down, my mind starts racing.”
That wired but tired feeling isn’t in your head it’s your stress hormones staying switched on.

When cortisol (your daytime energy hormone) doesn’t drop in the evening, your body struggles to shift into rest mode especially if you’ve been running on adrenaline all day. I love my diffuser on in the evenings it’s helps signal to my brain that the day is done.

💛 Try this tonight:
✨ Dim the lights
✨ Breathe deeply
✨ Diffuse calming oils like lavender
✨ Avoid screens for the last 30 minutes before bed

It’s not just about sleep it’s about teaching your body it’s safe to relax again.

You don’t need hours just a moment of peace on purpose.

♥️Save this as a reminder to make space for calm tonight. ♥️share the love
