A small amount of HA filler deposited gently in the right place can make a significant difference to the appearance of the lower third of the face. This is achieved by tweaking the upper to lower lip ratio as well as harmonising the side profile. The after pic was taken immediately after procedure so there is a small amount of swelling which will settle within a few days leaving the desired result. Fun fact: Apparently hyaluronic acid was first isolated in 1934 by Meyer and Palmer( Paper can be sent to those interested). Fradeani doesn't discuss the use of toxin and filler in detail in his famous texts on prosthodontics rehabilitation of the smile. However we all know that the soft tissue, smile line, symmetry, balance and ratios play a significant role in aesthetics of the smile and some of these factors can be tweaked with toxin and filler which are fairly non-invasive treatments which is why I love them.
