There is an important connection between estrogen and the gut, which has implications for women's overall health. Estrogen is a female s*x hormone that impacts many physiological processes in the body, including intestinal growth and function.

Several studies have shown that estrogen has a direct effect on gut health by regulating intestinal wall permeability and modifying the composition of the gut flora. High levels of estrogen have been associated with decreased intestinal wall permeability and increased mucus production, which may help protect the intestinal mucosa against injury and inflammation.

Furthermore, estrogen plays an important role in regulating gut flora composition. Estrogen levels have been associated with changes in gut flora diversity and composition in women. High levels of estrogen have been associated with an increase in the proportion of beneficial bacteria in the gut microbiota, which may help maintain overall gut health.

Studies have also suggested that hormonal imbalances, such as those associated with menopause or other hormonal disorders, can have a negative impact on gut health by altering intestinal wall permeability and gut flora composition. This can lead to increased inflammation and digestive problems.

Title: "You are what you absorb: the importance of what you put into your body and mind"

Description: You are the product of your environment - what you see, what you hear, what you eat, what you read, and what you think. Everything you absorb has an impact on your physical and mental well-being, your mindset, and your behavior.

By paying attention to what you absorb, you can take control of your health and your life. You can choose to nourish your body with healthy food, listen to music that inspires you, read books that make you grow, and think positively. You can also avoid things that harm you, such as unhealthy food, toxic people, negative media, and destructive thoughts.

Ultimately, you are responsible for what you absorb and what you become. You have the power to create your own reality by carefully choosing what you allow into your life. So take care of yourself and your environment, and choose to nourish your body and mind with what makes you happy and healthy.

In conclusion, the nervous system plays a significant role in the functioning of the gut, and the sympathetic and parasympathetic systems work together to maintain an optimal balance.

Stress can disrupt this balance by activating the sympathetic system and decreasing digestive function, which can lead to various digestive symptoms.

It is essential to manage stress to maintain a healthy gut and overall well-being.

Why should I take care of my gut even if I don't have gut symptoms?

During my recent discovery calls, several patients have told me that their digestion is good, but they need help with weight loss or managing PCOS. However, both of these health issues can be signs that your digestion is not functioning properly, so they should not be ignored.

In a recent call, a patient told me that he didn't have gut issues but often had acid reflux for which he took medication to relieve the symptoms. However, taking medication is not a lifelong solution, and reflux can indicate an underlying issue in the gut.

It's important to take care of your gut by avoiding processed foods, increasing your fiber and vegetable intake, and taking supplements such as probiotics or digestive enzymes if needed. Even if you don't feel any gut symptoms, it's possible that your digestion is not functioning optimally. Do you have occasional minor gut issues? It's important to monitor these signs and take care of your gut to maintain good overall health.
