20 years ago people went out on that morning, as they had probably done countless times before, and for many their lives changed in unimaginable ways. I remember sitting at work hearing of an electrical fault on a tube train, and watching the horrors unfold before our eyes, not being able to comprehend what was happening in our wonderful London. The community came together that day to help and support in any way they could, ordinary people became heroes and ordinary people sadly lost their lives. Today we remember the 52 people who never came home, and the countless others who were caught up in the fear and despair. We give thanks to those who went in to help, not knowing what they might face, and who didn’t give up until they had done all they could.
