Colore**al cancer remains the third most common cancer and the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. While a healthy lifestyle can help lower individual risk, early detection through screening is life-saving. Those experiencing persistent symptoms or reaching screening age should seek medical advice—because early intervention saves lives.

At SurgEase Innovations Ltd, we are deeply committed to reducing the burden of colore**al cancer. Our journey with LumenEye® has always been about making a meaningful difference—from early detection to treatment planning and follow-up. With over 350 systems in use globally, LumenEye is empowering surgeons, gastroenterologists, GPs, nurses, and oncologists to enhance patient care.
Every day, hundreds of patients are screened using LumenEye. We take pride in knowing that our work is playing a role in transforming outcomes and helping clinicians detect disease sooner. As we mark Colore**al Cancer Awareness Month, let’s continue the conversation on how technology and innovation can drive better care for all.

Meet the The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust specialist nurses using LumenEye X1 to streamline the outpatient clinical assessment of patients suffering from potential Immune checkpoint inhibitor-induced colitis! They worked incredibly hard today on their 'Train the Trainer' day to expand the service that is facilitating early diagnosis and timely escalation or de-escalation of immunosuppressive therapy.

Special recognition to Dr Nick Powell and his team for providing the specialist support needed to create such an innovative clinical pathway.

We are very pleased to learn of the publication of this recent journal article in the British Journal of Surgery, which evaluated the use of LumenEye in place of flexible sigmoidoscopy for patients referred with anore**al symptoms to the colore**al outpatient department. The authors conclude that LumenEye X1 'offers a potential solution to helping to relieve the endoscopy burden and enable cost savings by reducing the number of outpatient flexible sigmoidoscopies'.

We are so honoured to have had Rt Hon Andrew Pakes and Councillor Dr Shabina A. pay a visit to Thistlemoor Medical Centre to see LumenEye digital rectoscopy clinics in action for themselves!

Following the Lord Darzi Review the future of the NHS has never been more under the spotlight. Their support of the fantastic work that Greater Peterborough Network is doing to enhance access to anore**al services and answer the call to rebalance care towards the community, is most heartening.

Every company needs a moment to stop, take stock of what has been done, enjoy its victories and recognise what needs to be done going forward. The SurgEase Summer Townhall 2024 was a roaring success. A fun day packed with food, speeches, laughs and some good old competitive go-karting.
Well done to the team for working so hard over the last 12 months. Thank you to our past members, (you are missed), and a warm welcome to our new staff. The future is bright and we can only be stronger by working together as a collective. Here's to the Xmas Townhall...

SurgEase Innovations Ltd are overjoyed to see how LumenEye X1 is revolutionising the care of patients possibly suffering from Immune checkpoint inhibitors induced colitis (CPI-colitis) at the The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. Immune checkpoint inhibitors have transformed cancer outcomes, but at the cost of inducing CPI-colitis in up to 46%, frequently leading to morbidity and CPI discontinuation. The rise in cases of CPI-colitis has put severe pressures on endoscopy services with delays in patient management. The ability to visualise the re**um and biopsy in outpatients using LumenEye X1 is enabling the trust to streamline care at reduced costs.

We are so proud to see how our disruptive technology is transforming healthcare and improving the sustainability of the NHS.

Huge thanks to Gastroenterology Consultant Dr Nicholas Powell and his team including Hajir Ibraheim and Zyra Harrison for paving the way when it has never been needed more.
