🌱 After years of working with supplements, recommending them to my clients, observing how they respond, trying different types on myself, attending different brand workshops and trainings, I gained some very important insights and perspectives.
I believe that for most people without specific training it is very hard to know what to choose when buying from the internet websites and/or different health stores.

👉🏼 There are two basic types of nutritional supplements:
natural (food-based) and synthetic (man-made), it is very important to distinguish between the two.

🌱 𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝗺𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂

Most of the supplements from health stores and pharmacies are found as isolated nutrients (synthetic). These are usually made artificially through an industrial process.They are also to be found in the fortified, packaged foods. If they are clean and hypoallergenic though they are safe to use for short periods of time.

Natural (food-based) supplements can provide you with all the nutrients contained within the food itself.
This is because when you eat real food, you’re not consuming single nutrients, but rather a whole range of vitamins, minerals, cofactors and enzymes that allow for optimal use by the body.

🍎 Whether it is nutrition or medicine, we are taught and convinced that we can understand complex structures and processes by understanding individual parts.
This belief is confusing and could lead to failure in treatment as this approach doesn’t take in consideration the body as a whole or the cofactors needed for a nutrient to function.

🪴 Let me ask you something 👉🏻 have you ever been told the story about how you can only cure illness through prescription medication - which, let’s face it, is ineffective and with many possible adverse reactions?

🌱 Did anyone tell you that illnesses are usually caused by bad genes or simply by bad luck?

Chronic state of fight or flight - stress can cause

•anxiety • allergies •auto-immune disorders • IBS • ADHD • ADD • Fatty liver • High Blood pressure • diabetes • rage • anger • stomach ulcers • SIBO • H.Pylori • Recurrent colds and respiratory tract infections • taking longer to heal

🌱 So, in essence if you experienced ongoing stress or trauma, or both it is what we call “Tired but wired” which can come in various forms such as:

🌱 We have two adrenal glands located above the kidneys.

🌱 Adrenals have been described as the prodigies of the body - “working for minimum wage whilst having CEO-level responsibilities.”

🌱 The stress adapting organs are the adrenal glands. A main stress hormone produced by the adrenals is cortisol.

🌱 There is not one bodily system not affected by cortisol. This is why steroid medication is one of the most “suppressive” and damaging to the body as cortisol is a steroid hormone, like other steroids hormones estrogen, progesterone, androgens etc. They are also considered the “back-up ovaries” during menopause.

🌱 Being aware of the metabolic processes and of how hormones affect our being will help us create a balanced daily routine and new healthy habits.

🌱 Your sympathetic nervous system (SNS) helps your body activate fight or flight response. Adrenaline is the driver of your fight or flight response.
This system’s activity accelerates when you are stressed, in danger or physically active.
It is absolutely vital in responses to help you get you out of danger when you might need to think or act quickly.

👉🏻 But what exactly is stress? Stress comes in various forms BUT it is the non-specific response of the body to ANY demand. It is a natural human response that prompts us to address challenges and threats in our lives.

🌱 Our bodies are made to deal with stress up to a certain point. Chronic ongoing stress (Distress or what is known as “bad stress”) is constant repeated stress with no recovery that impairs general health while acute stress (Eustress also known as “good stress”) is essentially an alarm reaction in which recovery follows quickly and it may even save your life.

⚗️ With the proper tools and knowledge we can prevent chronic stress and its effects as well as insuring a proper recovery after periods of prolonged stress.

I am Andreea, your Nutrition Therapist and Homeopathic Practitioner.

🌱 After studying Integrated Nutrition & Homeopathy at the London Regent University and practicing for three years, I specialized myself in addressing a great variety of bodily imbalances that can and often do lead to serious illness and are mostly ignored by allopathic (drug based) practitioners of medicine. I am also a member of the Complementary Medicine Association.
