Wearing a tiny black jacket and a literal flower crown—similar to the look Lagerfeld himself styled on the then-13-year-old actress for his Little Black Jacket book—Fanning was fairycore perfection. To add another dainty yet stunning look to her repertoire, Fanning paired smoked wing liner with a sleek blowout at this week's Chanel Cruise Show.

On May 9, Fanning arrived at the show wearing a two-piece outfit that included black, high-rise trousers full of sequins and a matching vest covered in reflective silver and black sequin flowers buttoned only at the top. Her stylist, Samantha McMillen, paired the look with a black jacket with silver embroidered flowers, a black Chanel handbag, and black patent leather platform boots.

The underlying cause of your scalp dryness will determine the degree to which you experience symptoms and will influence the correct course of treatment. Unlike yeast or bacteria-fueled dandruff, a dry scalp can result from many things, including using a harsh shampoo, sensitivity to fragrance, low humidity in the air, taking long or hot showers, certain medications, hormonal changes, and advanced age. When it comes to scalp dryness, board-certified dermatologist Dr. Ava Shamban says all of the associated conditions involve some form of dysregulation of skin cell turnover and low sebum production.
Our experts caution that several conditions may appear to be dry scalp but are actually something more serious. "If dry scalp is not resolving with over-the-counter treatments, it's important to see a dermatologist to rule out a more serious diagnosis and ensure that whatever is causing the problem is appropriately treated," board-certified dermatologist Dr. Rebecca Marcus shares.

Purple vs. Blue Shampoo
The difference between blue and purple shampoos lies in which colors they neutralize: Purple neutralizes yellow while blue neutralizes orange and brassy tones. "This is because violet-purple is across the wheel from yellow, and blue is across the wheel from orange," says Valdes. "The different color shampoos focus on different tones in your hair that occur after bleaching or lightening," adds Leake.

"These shampoos have the same effect on different shades of hair. Basically, purple is to blonde as blue is to brunette," explains Leake. Valdes agrees, sharing that blue shampoo can especially benefit brunettes without any bleaching or highlights. For this reason, blue shampoo would be an ideal option for someone with reddish-brown hair looking to achieve a cooler tone without dying their hair darker.

Both shampoos can help extend your time between colorings, too. "Working a blue or purple shampoo into your routine can extend the life of your color between salon visits and promote healthier, fresher, more natural-looking hair," shares Leake.
