I recently discovered that the word 'liminal' comes from an old term, 'limen', meaning threshold, originally describing the beam of a doorway between the inside and outside of a home. Liminal spaces are in-between thresholds of transformation from one context or reality to another. The human sense-portals, then, are liminal spaces too. What strikes me about the nature of the liminal is that it implies…...

Authentic culture emerges symbiotically from a human relationship to the land. Without harmony between the land, its history, its character and soul, and the lives that are a part of it, imbalances create dis-ease. Colonisation, razing authentic culture from the land, erasing its custodian wisdom, depletes the soul of our relationship to it. As we are inherent parts of the ecosystem that sustains us, from which we emerged, we feel the aching gap....

E r o t i c i s m doesn't end at the bedroom door.

Rain on the skin. Spring water on the tongue. Fresh air on the back of your neck.

I used to float in and out of a daze as a child just sensually absorbing the way that a string of beads would tinker and collect in a pile of tiny sounds and materials, chiming against themselves into my left hand as I would carefully drip them in and out with my right. Over and over again. Engulfed in their form and my existence in relation to them.

Conscious attention, when it engages our whole body, is an old and true kind of magic.
These little moments stay embedded in our tissue-memory; snippets of fullness come back to tickle us from our child-self's awareness, from the last times we existed wholly and with abandon.

There is less space for restrictive mental habits when our whole consciousness is busy spreading itself into every crevice of our present sensual experiences.
A huge part of the power of s £ x is its potential to bring us into deep presence with the happening experience, the same way the adrenaline of sudden fear can sometimes feel oddly €rotic. Both have the capacity to bring us directly into communion with our body's natural responses, to feel our raw aliveness.

Bodyfulness is a state of consciousness through which we can cultivate this rich aliveness in all of our daily humdrum activities. When our animal body's erotic, acutely alive nature can inhale a vibrant connection to existence, and exhale into a deep sensorial bliss, bringing volumes of Earthly pleasure into every inch of the mundane.
