It’s September and we are back to school this month!

Well, as they say, every day is a school day…. but if you were actually going back to school, what is it you would want to learn?

Once we have been in the school of life for a while, often the best subject to learn about is ourselves. Especially if we find we are repeating patterns, feeling a little stuck, not where we want to be in our lives, or feeling frustrated with things just not moving forward.

You could insert anything here, if you’re feeling frustrated with: career, living situation, relationship, families, health, work/life balance, hobbies, passions, lack of [fill in the gap] in your life!

If you are feeling it might be time to go back to the school of you this September, then coaching could really help you. I have some spots opening up this month- get in touch to have a chat with me!

Happy Summer Holidays!

I hope you are enjoying the last bit of the summer holidays, how have they been for you?

I always remember being told 'a change is as good as holiday', is your summer holiday as good as change?

Sometimes when we make a temporary changes, like we do on holiday, and we change up our routine or environment, it is enough to make us notice where we might want to make more permanent changes in our lives.

When we break our everyday patterns, even temporarily, it can shine a spotlight into the things we do on autopilot normally, but the beauty of a holiday is that life as we 'normally' know it, is suspended.

Have you noticed some areas where you may have thought, I would like more or less of this? Or where you wish you might continue some of the holiday vibes or patterns into your normal life?

Perhaps you might have just come to the end of your tether and know that this summer needs to be the last where you put up with [fill in the blank...!]

If this rings true for you, I encourage you to use the last bit of the summer holidays to make a note of all of the things that you might want to tweak or change completely. Drop me a message and next month we will schedule a free discovery call to talk about how you can make those changes your new reality.

The International Day of the Celebration of the Solstice honors the turning points of the sun, moments when light and shadow meet in perfect rhythm. Whether marking the longest day or the longest night, the solstice reminds us to pause, reflect, and realign with nature’s cycles. Today, let’s celebrate harmony, renewal, and the beauty of celestial balance.

This is a perfect time to take a look back at the first half of the year, take stock of where you are now and set your goals and intentions for the rest of 2025.

To get a sense of what that might be for you. You can get access to my Sankalpa mini-course to follow the 𝟱-𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗮𝗹𝗽𝗮 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀, absolutely free.

No more dreaming, no more thinking without action, this is about deep meaningful intentions and how to achieve them

This is what is covered in the ‘Sankalpa Mini-course’:

- What is our Sankalpa (intention)?
- Deeper connection with ourselves
- Outcomes of our Sankalpa
- Our What & Why - The real meaning behind our Sankalpa
- Our How - Commit to actions to move us closer to achieving our Sankalpa.

Summer Solstice is nearly here ☀️

What does summer solstice mean to you?

As the longest day of the year with the most amount of light and providing the longest waking hours for nature.... how does it impact you?

I naturally want to be awake, outdoors and doing things for longer. I feel like I have more opportunities to do things, be active and achieve during this time. Perhaps a fantasy, as there are still only 24 hours in the day, but more of those hours feel like they could be productive or meaningful.

As soon as midsummer's day has past, we are starting to loose the light again, and in my mind the active hours to be productive. So I really want to make them count.

Are there things in the second half of this year you would like to achieve and not let drag into 2026? If you would like some help with keeping on track coaching may be a great option for you, DM me to find out more about how I can help.

Are you listening?

Today's yoga class focussed on the throat chakra, Vishuddha. It is the chakra of communication, self-expression, truth and authenticity.

I know I can get so busy with life that I have to remind myself to slow down and listen. The communication with ourselves is as important as the communication with others. How often do you really listen, have a conversation with yourself and let your true thoughts and feelings come up?

Yoga is the perfect way to slow down, listen in and let your body do the talking.

What door do you need to close to allow for a new one to open?

Today is the festival of Maha Shivaratri and is one of the most important Hindu festivals. It honours Shiva and it is important in Yoga because Shiva is seen as the Lord of Yoga and Yoga’s first Guru.

The festival has many reasons for being significant, but what I want to share is:

🧘‍♀️That it is a time to deepen your practice, cultivate transformation and realize your potential.

🧘‍♀️It is a time to experience the vast emptiness within every human being, through the embodiment of divine masculine energy and the principles of creation, stillness, and pure awareness.

🧘‍♀️Shiva is the god of destruction, known as the great destroyer, and from destruction comes creation.

So today, I ask you, from your stillness and awareness, have you identified what you need to destroy to allow for new creation and transformation?

What door do you need to close to allow for a new one to open?

The yoga pose natarajasana (king dancer's pose), is Shiva’s Celestial dance, the concept of joy through the cycles of endings and beginnings you achieve in this pose.
It requires a strong foundation, balance, flexibility and reach, with opposing forces pulling in many directions.

My version is still a work in progress, it improves, goes backwards, ebbs and flows. But the purpose is to destroy it after each practice, no comparison or competition, just being still, present and where you are in each moment.

Are you pretending to be something you're not?

I have, it was hard to admit at the time, and to look back and realise how long I was pretending for.

I spent years running on empty, exhausted and drained, riddled with self-doubt, but all the while saying:

"I'm fine"
"I just need a good night's sleep"
"I'd rather be busy, than bored"
"I will catch up tomorrow"
"It will get better once... [insert all number of excuses]"
"Yes, I can take it on..."

Rather than saying:

"No, I'm not ok"
"I need a total reset, rest, timeout, holiday and to look after myself properly"
"I am avoiding how disconnected, low, drained and unfulfilled I really feel"
"Tomorrow's are a never-ending hamster wheel, that I keep putting things off for"
"I am making up endless excuses to avoid myself and how I am feeling"
"No, I am totally full up, overwhelmed and can't take on another thing"

Does any of that sound familiar?

They are hard things for me to admit, to say out loud and even write, but when I started to be honest and stopped pretending, I started to feel the anxiety and dis-ease start to fade just a little. Because I was finally being truthful with myself.

If you are experiencing anything similar and might want to think creatively about how to make the shift and feel more at ease and fulfilled, get in touch to see how I can help.

Find your stillness to move yourself forward and achieve your potential.

This week, in yogic tradition, we celebrate Mahashivratri, which is to honour the Hindu deity, Shiva.
Although on this day, he is not worshipped as a God, but as the first Guru from where the science of Yoga originated.

Shiva represents many things (I will talk more about that later in the week), but today I want to talk about meditation and stillness, which is the ultimate Samadhi (bliss/enlightenment).

It is said that Shiva spent many millennia in meditation, until one day he became absolutely still. And this stillness is seen as reaching one's full potential (Samadhi).

In everyday life, I find I can be so busy 'doing' feeling like I am achieving and getting a little further ahead. However, this sense of achievement is false, as we are often measuring the wrong thing.

- How tired we are
- How many things we have ticked off the to-do list
- How many appointments, meetings (both for work and personally with friends and family) we have squeezed in
- Whether we can finish one project to just create a tiny bit of space to take on another
- Adrenalin hits of small wins of success, rather than an instinctual sense of fulfilment and satisfaction

To really succeed and our reach potential, we need to slow down and find the stillness. This allows us to see the woods for the trees and the fog to settle, to really check in with ourselves, listen and see clearly.

Does this resonate? Leave a comment if you have experienced this and might benefit from finding some stillness.

You might also want to try this free workshop and follow the "Sankalpa" 5-step process to set meaningful and aligned intentions by connecting and listening more deeply with yourself.
