Walking is a weight bearing exercise and research has shown that it may build and maintain strong bones. Not only may it improve your bone health, but it may also increase your muscle strength, coordination, and balance which in turn may help to prevent falls, related fractures, and improve your overall health. This past Wednesday, I was invited to a „Salon“ breakfast networking event at The Relais in Henley. The speaker was Giles English, co-founder of Bremont Luxury Watches. He and his brother started the company in 2002 and it was fascinating to hear the background story which exemplified resilience, vision and passion. Have you ever wanted to make a healthy food extra yummy? Try out these delicious tangy kale crisps with extra added goodness! Recipe below.

TANGY KALE CRISPS
Serves 4

1 tbsp tahini
60g cashew nuts
2 tbsp nutritional yeast flakes
2 tbsp lemon juice
1⁄2 tsp garlic granules
1⁄2 tsp sea salt
200g kale, washed, destalked and chopped into 5cm pieces
Coconut oil, for greasing
1. Preheat the oven to 140C.
2. Blend the tahini, cashew nuts, nutritional yeast flakes, lemon juice, garlic granules, sea salt and 2-3 tbsp water to create a thick sauce.
3. Put the kale in a large bowl and pour over the tahini mixture, massaging the sauce into the kale using your hands, until it is thoroughly coated. The kale should start to wilt.
4. Grease a baking sheet with a little coconut oil and arrange a single layer of kale on top. Bake for approximately 10 minutes before flipping with a fork and bake for a further 10 minutes, until crisp but not burnt.
5. Allow to cool and store in an airtight container.

As the saying goes, Breakfast is the most important meal of the day! Quick and easy to make, this smoothie bowl recipe will be an ultimate morning brain booster for everyone.

SMOOTHIE BOWLS
Serves 2
Ingredients:
100g mixed frozen berries
100g frozen banana (1 small ripe banana)
2-3 tbsp unsweetened almond or coconut milk
1 scoop vanilla/plain protein powder (optional)
Toppings (pick 1-2)
1 tbsp shredded coconut
1 tbsp chia or h**p seeds
1 tbsp chopped nuts
1 tbsp granola
1 tbsp nut butter
extra berries
1. Add frozen berries and banana to a blender and blend
on low until small bits remain.
2. Add a bit of coconut or almond milk and protein powder
(if using), and blend on low again, scraping down sides as
needed, until the mixture reaches a soft serve consistency.
3. Scoop into serving bowl and top with desired toppings.
