At Claimont Health Ltd, we're proud to support Mental Health Awareness Week, taking place next week (12th-18th May), and led by the Mental Health Foundation.
This year’s theme is Community, a reminder that safe, supportive connections are vital to our mental health and wellbeing. When we feel part of something bigger, we’re less likely to experience isolation, and more likely to find strength, purpose, and resilience.
James Allum-Rooney, Head of Mental Health at Claimont Health, says: “This year’s theme resonates deeply. Strong community ties can significantly reduce loneliness and help us feel seen and supported. Whether it's friends, family, colleagues, local groups or online spaces, community is a vital lifeline. In difficult times, knowing there are people who care can ease stress and foster hope. And by engaging with others, whether through volunteering, hobbies, or simply connecting with neighbours, we build purpose, belonging and self-worth.”
This Mental Health Awareness Week, let’s reflect on how we can strengthen the communities around us and reach out to those who may need connection most.
