FUT (Follicular Unit Transplant Technique)

The FUT procedure is a highly regarded and well-established surgical method for restoring hair. An area of hair loss can be treated by transplanting a thin strip of healthy hair-bearing skin from a permanent area of the scalp (where hair is genetically programmed to grow forever) to a non-permanent area. This technique can produce highly successful results.

How does the treatment work?

You will receive a strip of skin with healthy hair from the back of your head, usually from an anaesthetized area of your scalp (the donor area). We then place this strip under a microscope, which allows our experts to select individual hair follicle units at random as they naturally occur. As soon as the grafts are prepared, they are placed in a chilled solution until they are ready to be transplanted.

Meanwhile, the donor area of your scalp will be stitched closed, and your scalp's surrounding hair will cover the incision, making it virtually invisible. It will take 10 to 14 days for the stitches to be removed, and then the donor area will heal with only a small scar.

How long the procedure takes?

FUT procedure can take between 4 and 12 hours, depending on the area being treated and the number of grafts being transplanted.

Is it possible to see results immediately?

About four months after the treatment, you should start seeing new hairs grow. The thickness of the new hair will increase over a period of 10 to 15 months.
