My parent seminar is back! This sold out when I ran it in February, and it’s back for July! This time I’ve added in extra tips to get you through the summer holidays!

From Dawn to Dinner: parent seminar - easy to implement tips and strategies that you can use throughout your day, sprinkled into your daily routine, with a Q&A session at the end!

The idea of this seminar is that the strategies are REALISTIC but POWERFUL.

Simple ways to adapt the things that you’re already doing (like walking to nursery, lunchtime, bath-time) but adaptations that will make a difference to you and your little one.

I didn’t want to leave you there as I get so many questions every day from parents who want to ask me something specific. I know that those tips might not answer your all your questions, so here is your opportunity to get my real, unfiltered, specific answer to your question!

If that sounds like something you’re interested in, drop a heart in the comments and I will send you all the info you need ❤️❤️❤️

I know you are disappointed, and I feel terrible. My parent seminar totally sold out, and I know so many of you wanted to come but didn’t get a ticket ☹️

I want to offer another seminar in the summer, but until then - I have created a parent guide for you 🥰

From Dawn to Dinner: parent guide - easy to implement tips and strategies that you can use throughout your day, sprinkled into your daily routine!

The idea of this guide is that the strategies are REALISTIC but POWERFUL.

Simple ways to adapt the things that you’re already doing (like walking to nursery, lunchtime, bath-time) but adaptations that will make a difference to you and your little one. These are all the strategies I talked about in the seminar just in a handy guide instead (I also included a tracking sheet for you!)

If that sounds like something you’re interested in, drop a 🙌 in the comments and I will send you all the info you need 🙌🙌🙌

I haven’t done anything like this for ages! And I’m pretty sure this is going to be a one off.

I’ve been toying with the idea of offering a Q&A session or a parent seminar for the last couple of months.

So here we go, this is both!

From Dawn to Dinner: parent seminar - easy to implement tips and strategies that you can use throughout your day, sprinkled into your daily routine, with a Q&A session at the end!

The idea of this seminar is that the strategies are REALISTIC but POWERFUL.

Now let me be honest here...

Learning to communicate effectively is a life long process (I'm still learning aren't you!?). But here are 3 things you can do to set your 2 year old on the right path:

1️⃣ Play with Words and Sounds 🎶🔤
Make language learning a fun and playful experience. Sing nursery rhymes, engage in rhyming games. These activities expose your child to different sounds, rhythms, and patterns of language. Encourage them to imitate sounds, repeat words, and even create their own silly rhymes. This fosters their phonetic awareness, promotes speech clarity, and enhances their overall communication skills.

2️⃣ Read, Read, Read! 📚✨
Immerse your child in the wonderful world of books. Choose age-appropriate stories with vibrant illustrations and engaging characters. Reading together not only sparks their imagination but also introduces them to new words, phrases, and concepts. Encourage active participation by pointing things out to them in the illustrations and allowing them to turn the pages. This not only builds their vocabulary but also nurtures their love for reading.

3️⃣ Engage in Conversation 🗣️💬
Chatting with your toddler may seem simple, but it's a powerful tool for language development. Talk to them throughout the day, describing what you're doing (speech therapists like to call this "commenting"). Engage in back-and-forth conversations, even if they are still using basic sounds, words or gestures. This helps them understand the structure of conversations, develop listening skills, and expand their vocabulary. Remember, quality interaction is key!

Remember, every child is unique, and language development varies. Be patient, provide a nurturing environment, and celebrate their milestones along the way. Together, let's unlock the world of words and watch their language skills soar! 🚀💬❤️

How is there never enough time in the day!?
Over the last few months I have been a little absent on here and it’s simply because I haven’t had enough time in the day! My in-person therapy team is growing and I am working with new families at the moment (who I always give that little bit extra time to as they are at the start of their communication journey). So right now my offline life needs more from me 🤍
I know I’m speaking to a community of parents here who know better than most what it means to juggle! And understand that it is not possible to be all things, to all people, all at once.

I am trying to practice what I preach and focus on the things that can not be missed and come back to the things things that are less urgent when there’s a little more breathing room.

I will get back to regular posting again soon, just not quite yet.

If you’re juggling things at the moment, I see you! And if you are doing it all, please share the secret for all of us 💜

Over the last few years the concept of “balance” has taken on a new meaning for me (and probably you too!)

It used to involve me spending many hours of the week at work, rushing out the door to dinner with friends or a gym class every night after work and cramming my weekend full to the brim!

Things look a little different these days. Those original things (work, friends, good food, exercise) are still important for me, but as is the quiet. The still. The slow moments.

Now I say this from a place of privilege. I am in the position to not have to work all the hours available to me, I don’t have children and besides a cat and bills I don’t have any responsibilities. However as a reformed busy person, I want to say. Take that moment for some time to yourself 🤍

You can’t pour from an empty cup. This is your sign to enjoy a little quiet. What’s your favourite way to take some time out?

P.s. Lake Como as it turns out is an amazing place to take a moment!
