Most of us forget that the air around us holds pure consciousness. The essence and history of life itself and every breath connects you to it.
This is the story I tell at our residency this month. THE SCIENCE:
You breathe in about 25 sextillion molecules every time you inhale. (That’s 25 with twenty-one zeros after it.)
There are 7.75 billion people alive today. Even if each of us had 7 billion descendants, you’d still be short of that number by 500 times.
Air is roughly four molecules of nitrogen to every one of oxygen. Earth’s atmosphere weighs about 5 × 10²¹ grams and contains about 1.04 × 10⁴⁴ molecules total.
The average human breath is about one litre, so you , your mates, Shakespeare, Napoleon, John Lennon, whoever, breathe (or breathed) out about 2.4 × 10²² molecules per breath.
Over forty-five years, breathing at twenty-five breaths per minute, one person will breathe out about 2.1 × 10³¹ molecules.
But we breathe in about 2.4 × 10²² molecules each breath. So with every breath, you’re inhaling about 4.3 billion molecules that any given person from history has breathed.
In a nutshell… You’re literally breathing the same air as your ancestors. As every artist, leader, lover, and dreamer who came before you 🤯
