I train most days and someone recently asked me “what you training for?” I paused… 🤔 Hmmm, I’m training for me, I said.

I train so I feel good each day. I train so I feel energised and alive. I feel more productive and focused. I sleep better. I think sharper. If I miss a couple days of training I’m not that fun to be around. Trust me.

Judo was my sport growing up, I was on the matt from 4 years old and in the dojo most days for 15 years with hopes of being Olympic Champ. So training and competing was such a huge part of my life until injuries took their toll and tbh I havnt pushed myself to a physical goal other than daily habit of feeling good for a long while.

But these last few days at exchange in their Amsterdam HQ surrounded by inspiring althletes and trainers has ignited back that competitive spark in me… winning their 50,000km team erg competition helped. So thinking 2026 might push myself physically with an endurance test of sorts… not sure what yet.

A friend already locked me in for a Hyrox in Jan but I think I’d like to do something else too… maybe back to my martial arts roots, maybe something hybrid, maybe endurance gonna sit with it and see what lands.

What I am excited about doing is putting my own althlete breathwork protocols to the test on myself- using breathwork to drive my VO₂ max and see just how far I can use breathwork push the performance needle 🔥

Wooooaaarrr! This power of bedtime breathwork! 🔥 Here’s data from 1,000+ participants who did our 7 day Sleep Better Reset recently - so next level!

Am I surprised? No not really, because this practice is science and well... it just works.
Although I am surprised at the impact in only 7 days!

Sleep can be underrated but is so important for you to show up fully feeling energy and calm. So here’s the lowdown of what we did…

Participants followed a 10-15 mins Breathpod wind-down audio each night. Before and after the reset we asked 7 simple questions around sleep quality, focus, stress, and daily habit (see slides 2&3).

The results…
Problems falling asleep: ⬇️ 60%
Disturbed sleep: ⬇️ 45%
Waking up tired: ⬇️ 52%
Focus issues from lack of sleep: ⬇️ 66%
Stress & anxiety: ⬇️ 50%
Dependence on stimulants: ⬇️ 61%
Late-night screen time ⬇️ 48%

The science? Simple. When you slow your breath with certain techniques you soothe your nervous system. You hit the brake pedal on the crazy pace of modern life, calm your busy mind. The vagus nerve is activated - sending a signal of safety into your nervous system and letting your body and mind know that you are safe to rest, and safe to relax. Cortisol levels drop, heart rate variability improves, and your body shifts into “rest and digest” - the state where true restorative sleep happens. Pair it with body awareness and a touch of visualisation…. and you get a lot of sleepy people 💤

Stack that over 7 nights and suddenly your sleep and your nervous system have a new normal and you sleep like a baby and wake up feeling fresh every damn day!
