I train most days and someone recently asked me “what you training for?” I paused… 🤔 Hmmm, I’m training for me, I said.
I train so I feel good each day. I train so I feel energised and alive. I feel more productive and focused. I sleep better. I think sharper. If I miss a couple days of training I’m not that fun to be around. Trust me.
Judo was my sport growing up, I was on the matt from 4 years old and in the dojo most days for 15 years with hopes of being Olympic Champ. So training and competing was such a huge part of my life until injuries took their toll and tbh I havnt pushed myself to a physical goal other than daily habit of feeling good for a long while.
But these last few days at exchange in their Amsterdam HQ surrounded by inspiring althletes and trainers has ignited back that competitive spark in me… winning their 50,000km team erg competition helped. So thinking 2026 might push myself physically with an endurance test of sorts… not sure what yet.
A friend already locked me in for a Hyrox in Jan but I think I’d like to do something else too… maybe back to my martial arts roots, maybe something hybrid, maybe endurance gonna sit with it and see what lands.
What I am excited about doing is putting my own althlete breathwork protocols to the test on myself- using breathwork to drive my VO₂ max and see just how far I can use breathwork push the performance needle 🔥
