Meet the teacher: Stefan!!

Stefan has been an active yogi since 2004, having discovered the powerful physical and spiritual practice after a serious running injury. He completed his yoga teacher certification (RYT 200) in mid-2017. He believes that, through yoga, everyone can tap into the energy and awareness contained within.

His classes always encourage connection with the breath and its link with the movement of the body. He believes in intuitive movement and a slow flow so that his students can really integrate the teachings and grow their own practice. He also pays particular attention to the language and imagery he uses while teaching and fits a few jokes in along the way to make it all a fun experience!

Stefan teaches Breath Focused Flow on Thursdays at 17:30 and is one of the team of teachers who regularly teaches the Friday 7pm partner class and the Sunday morning Weekend Warriors class. You can read more about Stefan here: https://www.brewerstreetyoga.com/Teachers/stefan-zebrowski-rubin

NEW CLASS ALERT!
Sound Bath Relaxation Class, Thurdays 20.15-21.15

Following the success of our trial class a few weeks ago, we're delighted to announce that will be starting a regular Sound Bath Relaxation Class from Thursday 19th March!

Join Adrian for this new super relaxing Sound Bath Relaxation Class!

What is a Sound Bath? It's a deeply relaxing meditative experience where you get “bathed” in sound waves through a carefully selected wash of instruments and voice with notable resonance and overtones. The intention is to create a safe space through sounds to release blockages and balancing the energies allowing the brain to let go. It is deeply relaxing and can be profoundly beautiful.

This sound bath creates a state of harmony by using sounds to clear discordance from the energy fields. Among the benefits are relaxation, an increased sense of well-being, expanded awareness and it gives access to inner visionary experiences.

The class is designed to perfectly partner with Adrian's more traditional hatha yoga class at 7pm, so why not made it an evening of indulgence and 'do the double'!

What to wear/bring:
• This is a clothing optional class, you may be naked, or wear lose fitting comfortable clothes.

Lateness:
Due to the nature of this class it is not possible to join us if you arrive late. Doors will be locked at 8.15, so please be on your mat by this point to allow a punctual start.

How many students will there be?
The class is limited to 15 students.

Can I pay on the door?
No. This class is prebook only.

See www.brewerstreetyoga.com for more details.

Thursday evenings at Brewer Street Yoga: 7pm is Mobility Yoga with

Friendly small group yoga class for gay men and their male friends.

Learn how to increase your range of movement in a healthy holistic way. Whilst deeply meditative at the beginning and the end, the central part of this class has a focus on technique with helpful achievable options being given to students whatever level you are at. Looking at a series of different poses each week you'll quickly develop strength and stamina over a short space of time!

A class for all levels, this traditional Hatha Yoga class is for those who struggle to touch their toes but also for those who want to achieve splits or get overspills but all with something in common; loving the feeling of freedom that comes from being naked in a safe environment whilst building strength, flexibility and body confidence.

75 mins of body positivity in a healthy, kind and loving space that welcomes all shapes and focuses on the development of our temple, our bodies.

Whilst you may not work up a sweat, you will work at a comfortable level for you, and will quickly discover that you are able to do things you never thought possible!

Some people think yoga is all about being serious and po-faced. Let me tell you, that's not the point AT ALL! Yoga is joyful, liberating, an opportunity to really "live laugh love" as the saying goes. Because as says, "if you can't love yourself, how in the hell you gonna love anyone else"?

Come find out for yourself at one of our casual chilled out classes where falling over, swearing, dropping things, and generally not being at all graceful, is all part of the magic of our community!

Monday Night is Hot 26+2 with Conleth!

In the words of long time student Scott:

"I'd never really thought of myself as the 'yoga type'. But as my fiftieth birthday approached, I felt it was time to try something new, break out of old patterns, and generally take better care of myself. So, almost two and half years ago now, I walked into Conleth Kane's Brewer Street Yoga class for the first time.

And it was, I'll admit, a baptism of fire - far more strenuous than any gym workout I'd ever done, and requiring me to bend and stretch parts of myself I didn't even know were there. But, mindful that few worthwhile things come easily, I kept going back and, within just a few weeks, the class began to 'flow'.

And I'm delighted I persevered, as I've got so much out of it all, both physically and mentally. The stretching has made me more flexible, while the breathing techniques have helped me manage stress a lot better. And I find going to a Monday night class sets me up well for the week ahead.

Conleth is also a very able and committed teacher, who is keen to ensure all his students derive as much benefit as possible from their yoga practice. Plus, he has worked hard to create a real sense of community among the group, which I have come to value as much as the class itself."

This class is our only 'hot' class, meaning the room is warm, so most guys take the class with shirts off and the traditional attire of speedos: technically they're supposed to be black speedos, but come on.. this is a fabulous gay yoga class! It's not compulsory by any means though and you're welcome to keep your shirt on if you wish.

This class is suitable for all body types and the group is friendly and welcoming so it's perfect for beginners. The class is quite intense and focuses on discipline and posture with the same poses repeated each week in the same order meaning you can track your improvements.
